The estimated one billion people worldwide who live with disabilities are still excluded from equitable access to resources (education, healthcare, etc.) and as a result persons with disabilities experience disproportionately high rates of poverty.
World leaders will address these issues and more on Monday as part of the UN General Assembly's annual meetings.
