My name is Viktor Vasilenko. And I am you, but in 3-5 years. Do you want to look into the future? Let's roll! 😉

Back in 2014, I worked in the office for a large corporate company.
I was the head of the department and made a very decent income thanks to my perseverance and hard work. It’s always like this for me: I do quality work, put all my strength into it and always get a good result. 👍🏻

But what was the line on this? I was the youngest leader, but I worked day and night and I had no time for anything else in my life. It was a groundhog day: work-sleep-work. I lost my spark. I lost my freedom. I had no relationship, no family, no hobbies, no traveling. Nothing. It's very difficult to go on a date when you work 24/7, you know. And who would like you not being around all the time? 😔

Then for the first time I thought: what do I want? What am I striving for? Where do I see myself in 10 years? What is the MEANING of my current work? Does it make anyone happy? Not me, that's for sure. Then what is it all for?

And then bang! 💥I realized that I wanted to be engaged in interesting activities, and not work just for the sake of money. I wanted to work for myself and be free. I wanted to feel inspiration and meaning in my work. I wanted to live a full life, I wanted to love, start a family, travel often, fulfill myself and be happy every day! I wanted to live (in every sense of the word).

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰?
I was very scared. Initially I didn’t even consider that it was possible to do what one loves and earn decent money. I was generally afraid of my income decreasing. You know, I am not the person to impulsively drop everything and start from scratch. I weigh the pros and cons for a long time, I look for options, I act gradually, step by step, without abrupt changes, I draft plans A, B, C, D, etc.
That’s my way to feel comfortable. Because then I will definitely prevail.

🔥𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭? 🔥
I was an excellent specialist in marketing and sales. I loved to travel and wanted to do it as often as possible! I wanted to work for myself, I wanted to run my own business. Surely there was a way to put it all together. I just had to find another way! And I started looking for it. I was googling, reading books, studying, launching new projects, increasing my expertise.
Spoiler: I found the way!

But more on that later.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐨, 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐓𝐖-𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐤𝐦 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐞.

Leo worked for himself, at that time he had his own fitness and yoga studio, which brought in a considerable income. Leo’s life was completely different from mine, more free and inspiring! He was fond of yoga, constantly trying something new, interacting with a bunch of people, and he adored traveling.

He was in love with the mountains and lived in a cool mountain place, where he was constantly spending time in nature and hiking. In any free time he preferred to pack his things quickly and go hiking. Marvelous! 😱 I couldn’t even imagine such a weekend, but for him it was a common thing. 🤯

😔However, that wasn't enough for him. Something was missing in his life. Living in such a cool place, he wanted to share this beauty, he wanted to spread the word about these places, show them to other people. He had emotions that had nowhere to go, and he wanted to be heard. ☝️

Friends and acquaintances began to turn to Leo to ask for advice on where to go, where it was better to stay for the night, where the best cafes in that region were. That’s when an idea has come up – to gather all those interested people and make the first commercial tour. In addition, thanks to his studio, he already had a client base, and he wanted to monetize it additionally.

But since he had no experience in this, he had many doubts whether people would be willing to pay for a trip that they could go on by themselves. 🤷‍♂️

But Leo decided to give it a whirl! And in order to get the first experience, the first reviews and photos, he organized the first promotional tour – a tour at cost price, which would cover all Leo's personal expenses, but would provide no income.

Having spent the first small promotional weekend tour to the mountains, Leo enjoyed the way everything went, got warm reviews, took a good deal of pictures for future advertising, and also believed in himself.

☝️Leo announced a full price weekend tour. And immediately a full group gathered entirely of Leo’s subscribers in social networks. Advertising cost him nothing. A full group gathered, everything went in a warm and friendly way again. 👍🏻

🔥After that, Leo began to run tours every 2 months:
in summer – hiking, as well as fitness tours in the mountains,
in winter – ski tours.

Leo earned 1000 euros on each weekend tour, which was a pleasant additional income to his core activity. 🔥

(By the way, after me joining the team, we started running two week tours and festivals around the world. And we started earning 10,000 euros on every tour!🔥🔥)

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧? 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐮𝐩?

In 2017, a fateful meeting took place.
Leo had been doing hiking and fitness tours for 3 years. He wanted to make tours a full-fledged source of income and earn 5,000+ euros per month purely on tours.
And I wanted to start working for myself, I wanted to gain more freedom and do something adventurous and inspiring. I had upgraded my strengths in marketing in other projects greatly.

We have joined forces. Leo was experienced in tourism and hiking. I had a cool set of advertising and sales skills. 🤝

First of all we decided to focus on long tours rather than weekend tours.
Of course, we had doubts – do people need it? Why do people need our tour, if they could just buy a package from a travel agency? It sounded like a risky idea. And I like to have clear evidence that everything will work out. But I put my trust in it and went all-in with Leo. 👍🏻

We assumed that probably there were people who didn’t have a company, who cared about service, who had no time for googling. And our hypothesis proved to be true!

We have prepared a great tour. We spent 100 euros on advertising and earned 12,500 euros, after taxes we had about 9,000 euros left. 9,000 euros on 1 tour with investments in advertising of only 100 euros! Wow! It was a delight!! (I'll tell you how it turned out in another post) 🔥🥳

After such a result, we were inspired and we had no doubt that we should continue doing tours!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?

Since the moment of the first tour in 2014 our team has made more than 50 tours to different parts of the world!
Including:
- relax tours to Bali on an ongoing basis (more than 20 tours since 2017),
- festival tour for 60 people.

And the interesting part is that we don't spend much money on advertising: a community of about 300 people, constantly traveling with us on various tours, has already formed. We just do a newsletter using our base and gather people. This is our big family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠! 😎

Looking at our tremendous commercial success, our traveler friends started to ask us to teach them to make their group tours from scratch. We gathered all years of our experience, created a training program and experimentally trained several people. Now our first students are the owners of their agencies, who organize group tours and also earn 10,000 euros and more!

THE RULE OF 3 YEARS. Or how not to give up at the first failure and reach the success

We live in a world where, on the one hand, all the needs can be fulfilled almost instantly (communication and anti-loneliness in one click, calling a taxi is 3 clicks without unnecessary conversations with the dispatcher), and on the other hand, the information field is pumped with success stories in a couple of moments and we might think that there’s something wrong with us because it doesn’t work for us like this. A new illusory standard of achievement speed has appeared - “IMMEDIATELY!”

And now a person has a desire to try himself to become a sought-after expert, to rock Instagram up to 100k subscribers, launch their author's tour and start traveling non-stop.

But they’re either does not even start, soberly realizing that he will not be able to do it “right away”, or the person faces his first minor failure and .... just gives up on this idea saying “not mine”, “I am not made for it”, “this niche does not work" and then he is even afraid to start, because there was already a negative experience.

How did I hack this story? I have introduced the "3-year Rule" for myself.

I start everything as usual in a classic way:
◾ I set a sober goal for 3 years (and not “become a millionaire in 6 months”)
◾ I outline the result in numbers (200k ig subscribers, 20k paid courses per year)
◾ I make a number of visualizations of success, placing them in prominent places (wall, on the refrigerator, screen saver on the phone)

But the very essence of the “3-year Rule" is different! This approach has changed my perception of both the path itself and my attitude to failures and crises.

I know in advance that there will be a certain number of medium failures on my way (unpleasant, but tolerable) and a few very hard ones, in which I will be on the verge of quitting everything. I lay out several crisis in advance - the crisis of changing the primary team with which we planned this project from the start. Now I get only one who needs it all. The crisis of demotivation in the first year, when there is a lot of effort but little result etc. That is, I am ready for this, the surprise factor disappears. This helps me not to give up and find solutions to future crisis in advance. I am waiting for crisis, perceive them as an integral part of the path and prepare for them in advance. That’s the first thing.

Losses and failures do not knock the ground under my feet. Because I understand perfectly that on the scale of 3 years it is a mere trifle. One of the mini-pits on the way, during which I will ascend to a great personal peak. Mini-losses - nothing against the background of a personal new height. That's the second thing.

Sometimes you have an idea, you try to paint it to the scale of 3 years, and suddenly you realize that you don't want to do this for 3 years, you realize that this is just a mini-dream, for which there is no future. And you stop betting on it and live “I'll do it, and then I'll live there.” Not to wander in the clouds, but to know in advance. That's the third thing.

I do believe that the course for tour organizers is about special people who have a dream.

My first Balinese meeting with my subscribers and students happened yesterday. It made me realize that the courses for tour organizers are about people who don’t just dream, but also have the determination to fulfill it. ✨ Someone who sees themselves as a traveling coach as an example. Others - to set up their own remote business related to travel and active lifestyle.

The meeting was amazing. 🔥 I was full of energy and emotions despite the fact that I was giving out dense content for three hours in a row. The atmosphere turned out to be better than I expected. The people who joined had numbers of interesting questions. I felt that everyone wanted to absorb the information and put it into practice. Just what I wanted. We talked about creating a team for tours, interacting with partners and organizing private tours.
The latter topic is often misunderstood. There are many misconceptions about it. All the guys turned out to be cool and some of the stories made me happy.

For example, there is a girl named Olesya who has been living in Bali for 15 years. She has managed to recruit 15 Indonesians and will now take them to Sakhalin. They are planning on doing various activities such as playing snowballs, gun shooting.
There was also a man in the meeting from Uzbekistan named Shah. He is 25 years old. He traveled around the world with $500 in his pocket. Whenever he runs out of money, he stays in one country to earn a little bit of money and goes on traveling. It's a joy to meet people who fit into such an adventure. I am an adventurer myself and I wish Shah the best in his endeavors.
Violetta has also been living in Bali for 8 years now and organizes tours and retreats.

There are others who have created a fitness camp here and are also rocking the theme of tours and tours creation. Several yoga teachers also came to the meeting. People who make large tours for 30-50 people but want to switch to a smaller format to make it better and more profitable also joined.

Everyone had their own story and the meeting turned out to be very interesting, full of new knowledge and emotions. I want to thank everyone once again for their positive mindset, friendly atmosphere, inspiring questions, for eagerly absorbing my words, for being like-minded people and having the courage to fulfill their dreams.

What do traveling give you? Rest, reboot, inspiration, new ideas, expanding borders, new people...

I'm learning to be ineffective
For many years I have been a fanatic of planning and over-productivity. Without plans I felt lost, without productivity I blamed myself for wasting my time. There is a plus in this approach - I really achieved a lot at the age of 31, thereby becoming a self-made entrepreneur.
It's easy for me to play with goals, it's easy for me to play with ambitions and ego, to prove that I can do the same as that successful person over there and even better.

This is the former me putting the result in the first place. But there is a fee for such an achievement:
a) I did not live THE WAY but flew at super-speeds so a snap of my fingers and poooff… several years have passed
b) hastle is good because there is no time to hear MY deep DESIRES and FEELINGS.

This is an effective but youthful approach to life when you forget about the true self endlessly trying to pursue the results.

Today it is important for me to SAVOR every moment, TO HEAR my desires, to LIVE for myself (spiritual egoism) and TO FEEL, revealing my potential in the material world.

The only thing I have is my biological time. I want to remember every moment I've lived, every emotion.

Rebuilding from the old model to the new one is not fast. The habit of being productive by energy breaks with pain. Now I'm just learning to do nothing, learning to enjoy the little things.

Combining productivity and the ability to enjoy life is difficult, but you get the opportunity to realize your potential and live life feeling it, listening and hearing your heart and soul. It is better to apply these two qualities than to be only productive or only having fun in the moment.

It was the first time that my Birthday was really mine. So I ended up in Turkey…
Merhaba from sunny Turkey! 🌞👋🏻
One month before my birthday I encountered the problem that I have every year before this day - I strained because of the upcoming holiday and wanted to hide.

Every time I gathered all my friends to celebrate my birthday I had the feeling that I was creating this holiday for others, but not for myself. This time I wanted to be alone without feasting and carousing.

This year I decided to do something different. I didn’t want it to be the same as always (getting strained to please everyone) so I decided to do something different - to create a real holiday for myself. I realized that I just wanted to go to the gym and then steam in the hammam.. Moreover, it’s been a long time since I got an idea to try Vipassana (retreat of silence). But there are some difficulties with this now, so there was a plan B - to go on a mini-trip for the weekend. And I did it! :)

The day before my birthday I opened the internet to look for the tickets and remembered that my friends are in Antalya now and actually booked tickets to Turkey.

As a result, I dedicated my birthday to myself, and this mini-trip was a gift. I ended up in the south of sunny Turkey. Spoiler - the weather is still cool here!

Another reason for the tension before my birthday is that my friends often don’t know what to give me as a present because I always buy what I want myself. This time I decided to fix this mistake as well :) I just told my friends that I wanted to get a new quadcopter and gave everyone a link for a group gift. As a result, with the help of friends and all of you (my subscribers), I managed to collect 100k for a new dji mini2 drone and a go pro action camera in a day. So it was possible? XD
To sum it up, I will say that I didn’t regret that I decided to do as I want and as I like. On this day I listened to myself by 1000% - it was a 1000% right decision.

How to quickly explore any city: my 5 brilliant traveling tips

This post will be useful for those who want to spend a minimum of their time and take maximum from visiting any place.

🌁 The highest spot in the city. It is the first thing that I google. Usually, it can be a skyscraper, a restaurant or an observation deck. This place is a must-visit. For example, on this photo you can see the Lotte Tower in the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi.

⛰ Observation deck. It will be better if they are natural.
Natural observation deck gives you an opportunity to look at the city from another point of view, but sometimes it is really difficult to find one. For example, I like natural observation decks in Barcelona, here there are 2 or 3 hills to visit. In Hong Kong you can find 2 spots: well-kept Victoria Peak for tourists and wild Lion Rock with local residents walking here.

👨‍🦰 Taxi driver’s advice. As found as that sounds, every time I go from the airport to the city I always ask the taxi driver (he has a big experience due to his profession): What top-3 places would you recommend visiting to your friends? It doesn’t always work, but frequently I learn about cool places from taxi drivers.

In case there is no taxi driver nearby, you can ask this question in other places, like the reception of your hotel or local shops.

☕ 3 coffee shops

Coffee lovers and others will understand me. I highlight 3 cafes located in different small districts or within the center. And then go by my feet from one point to another. This “Coffee trip” helps me with orientation in the city.
How to choose coffee shops? I prefer to read reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. I look at the top reviews and the atmosphere from photos.

🕌 Check the sights

Usually when you are searching for sights in Google, you will find sweet and tasty descriptions and beautiful photos of the place. This is not always true. To not spend my time on disappointments, I search the liked places on Instagram and check true life photos. From geotags or hashtags, I take a look at the real photos and stories. Frequently I face a situation when the official page of the sight is empty, but in place there are countless multitudes.

How to make a tour even if you have never been abroad? A reward for overcoming fears and Georgian romance.

Here’s the lovely case of my student. I have just visited Georgia, as I have already written. I met with one student, Alexandra, who recently conducted a tour there. We chatted and she shared her impressions. Do you want to know how a fragile girl who recently studied at the university managed to make a tour for 11 people? Then read on 👇

"I come from Novosibirsk. If they had told me six months ago that I would be able to travel and earn money from it, I would not have believed it, I kind of still find it hard to believe. I've never even been onboard a plane before, but I've always dreamed of going abroad. I just knew that I wouldn't be able to work in an office, at an unloved job. My only option was to organize my own tours and it turned out to be very successful.

Love for Georgia.😍 I recently made my first tour and gathered together 11 people. It was around April 28 to May 5. There will always be a part of my heart in this country, among hospitable and friendly people, mountains, vineyards and delicious food. It is impossible not to fall in love with Georgia. This is the place you want to come back to again and again. What have we been doing? Our tour included not only excursions, but also various culinary workshops, tastings, a feast with a local family, a visit to the market and other interesting moments that you will not find in a regular tour. It seems to me that it is only thanks to such immersion that you can really get to know the country.

👯 Everywhere as a local. We talked to the locals, saw their way of life, learned their history and traditions. Georgia is famous for its hospitality. Each of our trips ended with a delicious meal. We went grocery shopping with a local resident. She showed us good stuff you can buy and where. We then cooked a delicious lunch at her house and spent some lovely time together. Georgian romance. We also went to the village factory, which is located far away in the mountains, far from civilization. They showed us how to cook local cheese, and they arranged a feast in a 200 year old dugout. The whole family are simple and genuine people. They sat with us and had a good time as if we were their old friends. People treat you as a friend everywhere in Georgia even if they meet you for the first time.

There were also fears. Firstly, not being able to recruit a group and not living up to my expectations. There was a moment when I wanted to stop advertising and totally give up. However, when you find something that makes your heart beat faster just thinking about it, you will have the courage to do it even for free to the point your fears and anxiety disappears. I was so obsessed with the idea of creating a tour that I just couldn't give up on it halfway. I didn't give up then and I'm very glad that I didn't now. Impressions from the tour. I put my soul into this tour, I couldn't sleep well for several months before. I constantly think of new ideas. I was tired of the tour itself. At first I couldn't even understand whether everything was working out or whether I was enjoying it myself. I was sooo nervous. Questions like: Is everyone happy? Is everyone full from the meal? etc. etc. I was worried about the latter. It is impossible to stay hungry in Georgia.

Thanks to the satisfied faces of the tour participants, I realized that everything is worth the effort, and I am on the right path. Many thanks to my group. All the people are wonderful. We became very close friends, and I almost cried when they left. Plans for the future. I have already opened a set of autumn groups, where the grape harvest will be added to the tour. This is a very interesting activity. To those who are just launching a tour or planning to do it, I wish you the very best of luck.

Sometimes I think that when we come to heaven, God will definitely approach everyone and ask:

— What do you mean? I am so sinful, Lord... have mercy ...
And He will interrupt you and say:
— Yes, I do know that already. Have been watching you… Did you like the Earth?
— O Lord, I don’t get you?
— Well, I had been creating the Earth for as much as 6 days and everything you can find on it. Did you like it?
My volcanoes? Aren't they cool? And jungles! Have you seen the jungles???
Just imagine, and how much time I spent on creating waterfalls, no one's believe me!!
And whales!!! Oh!!! If you only knew, I made them so powerful!!! You've seen whales, right?
Well, so tell me, please... What did you like the most?
And I am very afraid that I will be just standing still and silent with a confused look...
— Well, I just didn't have time... I... worked a lot ... then the family ... the children ... the annual report ... then the car loan ... but I wanted, honestly, my Lord, I wanted to see all these things! I am so sinful, but have mercy, Lord!
— Yes, however, not sinful, but stupid! — He would say. — There won't be a second chance to look at it!

God created man and is observing him from the heavens. The distance is great, and He doesn't hear anything. “What I could just give him”, God kept thinking. So he gives him the opportunity to travel and looks at how a man would react. Next one is the opportunity to live his life to the fullest and look at his response. Later gave him the opportunity to love and so on. After the tenth attempt, He realizes that the person is not moving.

Then God looked closer and saw shadows of sadness and discontent on the man’s face. God is thinking at a loss, “Maybe I'm giving him the wrong thing,” and decides to throw some poops from the sky to form problems. The man suddenly became more active. “Apparently he likes it,” God thinks and throws even more. The man was so anxious. “Oh, now I see, that’s what he loves,” such was the decision of God and he threw out a whole bunch of them and watched a man drowning in them.
