Buton National High School proudly participated in the Bangsamoro Science and Technology Week (BSWT) 2026 held at KCC, Cotabato City, on August 25–27, 2026.

Students Ahmad A. Jainuddin and Umayir M. Bagsik showcased their innovation, the Bamboo Aqua Filter, an eco-friendly water filtration prototype made primarily from bamboo and equipped with filtration materials and UV-C disinfection.

During the event, the students demonstrated how their innovation works and explained its purpose and potential benefits to visitors, teachers, and other participants. The activity gave them an opportunity to develop their confidence, communication skills, and appreciation of science and technology.

The experience was meaningful and inspiring for the students and the school. Their participation demonstrated how young learners can use creativity, science, technology, and locally available materials to develop solutions to community needs.

The activity successfully reflected the BSWT 2026 theme: “Agham na Ramdam Para sa Matatag na Bangsamoro.”
