I spent 4 months on a hypothesis that 4 papers had already tested.

Here's the workflow that would have saved me all that time.

The problem wasn't my research skills.
It was visibility.

I couldn't see where my field had already been.
I couldn't tell which gaps had already closed.
And I had no way to trace how ideas evolved over time.

That changed when I found Liner AI's research agents.

Here's my 3-phase workflow using two agents:
Hypothesis Generator
→ Searches 460M+ academic papers
→ Generates testable hypotheses from a broad topic
→ Provides supporting citations for every hypothesis
→ Scores each one on novelty, feasibility, significance, and clarity

Research Tracer
→ Maps the full citation network of any paper
→ Shows backward citations (what it built on)
→ Shows forward citations (who built on it)
→ Reveals which research directions were abandoned and which took off

My process:
1. Enter a broad topic into Hypothesis Generator
2. Take a key cited paper and run it through Research Tracer
3. Use Liner's iterative refinement to sharpen your hypothesis

Each refinement preserves the original literature foundation.
It adds new layers of insight with every pass.
And it tracks how your thinking evolved.

Remember:
→ This doesn't replace understanding your field
→ Always supplement with PubMed for specific genes or pathways

How to Connect with Global Scholars — Strategy and Online Presence on Social Media

Many people think connecting with international academics requires formal introductions, conferences, or institutional access.

In reality, meaningful academic connections increasingly emerge through thoughtful online presence.

Here are some strategies I’ve learned from my ongoing PhD Nomad journey:

1️⃣ Share ideas, not self-promotion
Global scholars respond to intellectual conversations, not marketing. Focus on insights, reflections, and questions that contribute to a wider discourse.

2️⃣ Develop a clear research narrative
People need to quickly understand what you are exploring. Consistency in themes helps others recognise your intellectual identity.

3️⃣ Engage with ideas, not status
Comment meaningfully on research topics, frameworks, or emerging questions. Authentic engagement builds relational networks.

4️⃣ Document process, not just results
Daily reflections or “field notes” show evolving thinking — and invite dialogue.

5️⃣ Be visible, but intentional
Social media can function as an open research environment when used with clarity and purpose.

Recently, reflections from my PhD Nomad research on AI, lived inquiry, and human flourishing sparked engagement from Prof. Thomas Reeves (learning design and evaluation research) and Prof. Mike Sharples (mobile learning and AI in education).

The key lesson:

Connection happens when your work resonates with ongoing global conversations.

The Internet is slowly becoming a “World University.”

Let’s learn together.
