In collaboration with Eco-Mantra, a Bali-based sustainability consultancy, this intensive workshop is designed for architecture and engineering professionals, students, and researchers interested in sustainable design and energy efficiency in the built environment. Participants will explore both theoretical frameworks and practical applications, learning how to analyze site-specific climate conditions, implement passive design strategies, and use state-of-the-art tools for building energy analysis.

Tensegrity, derived from the concept of ‘tensional integrity,’ is a structural principle that combines isolated compression elements with a continuous network of tension, resulting in lightweight yet remarkably stable forms. In Habitechno 7 - Bamboo Parametric Tensegrity workshop, we will explore the application of tensegrity using bamboo, a sustainable and resilient natural material. Participants will gain both theoretical insights and hands-on experience in constructing bamboo tensegrity models, while learning how this innovative system can be designed through parametric modelling. The workshop highlights the potential of tensegrity to inspire efficient, adaptable, and aesthetically refined structures.

Bamboo Parametric Tensegrity Workshop
Part of HABITechno7 + The Visaca 2025

Explore the intersection of nature and digital design through this hybrid workshop focused on parametric tensegrity structures using bamboo – a sustainable and locally sourced material.

• On-site Session: 3–5 November 2025

Participants will collaboratively design and build a bamboo installation using parametric design methods, culminating in a physical prototype. The final outcome will be showcased during the HABITechno7 + The Visaca International Joint Conference.
