Celebrating Intercultural Exchange and Generational Connections!
On Monday, September 22nd, 2025, students of the SOWOSEC Joint Degree Master’s Program from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Debrecen – Nyíregyháza Campus, came together to co-host a heartwarming event at the VOKE Cultural Centre as
part of the “Elderly Around the World” project. The day was devoted to honoring the wisdom of older generations through a vibrant and interactive intercultural experience.
The celebration began with an energetic dance session led by the talented Senior Joy Dance Club. Students and elderly participants joined in, filling the room with joy, rhythm, and laughter. It was truly inspiring to see generations connect through music and movement!
With the guidance of Dr. Bene Ágnes, students then presented insightful talks showcasing the lives of elderly citizens and the railway industry in India, Russia, and Uganda. The audience was deeply engaged as they discovered the unique stories, traditions, and histories of each culture. And of course—the culinary experience was a highlight! Students delighted everyone
with traditional foods from their home countries: Indian carrot laddus, Russian pancakes and gingerbread with tea, and a Ugandan mix of nuts and dried fruits. Sharing these delicious dishes opened conversations, laughter, and meaningful cultural exchange.
From dancing and storytelling to savoring global flavors, every moment of the event reflected the beauty of human connection. It was a joyful celebration of learning, togetherness, and
the unbreakable bonds that unite us across cultures and generations. ❤️
