Haïti. Les violences en Haïti ont fait 1 223 morts entre juillet et septembre, selon l'ONU
Au moins 1.223 personnes sont mortes et 522 ont été blessées en Haïti entre juillet et septembre de cette année en raison des violences et de la lutte contre les gangs, selon un rapport publié mercredi par le Bureau intégré des Nations Unies dans ce pays des Caraïbes (Binuh). .
Parmi les victimes figurent 6 enfants d'à peine 10 ans, tandis que 170 autres personnes ont été kidnappées contre rançon, selon les informations.
La grande majorité de ces cas ont été documentés dans la zone métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince, suivie de l'Artibonite et de la Grand'Anse, selon le rapport, qui rappelle qu'au cours du trimestre avril-juin au moins 945 personnes sont mortes et 434 ont été blessés à cause de la violence imparable dans ce pays déprimé des Caraïbes.
Les données Binuh mettent également en évidence la persistance de rapports d'exécutions sommaires, dans lesquelles sont impliquées des unités spécialisées de la police nationale.
Dans le document, le bureau de l'ONU exprime sa préoccupation face aux actes continus de violence sexuelle commis par des gangs contre les femmes et les filles.
Plusieurs victimes ont été agressées alors qu'elles marchaient ou utilisaient des véhicules de transport en commun.
"Certaines d'entre elles ont été assassinées après avoir été violées", révèle le rapport.
L’impact de la violence sur les enfants reste particulièrement préoccupant. Au cours du troisième trimestre de cette année, au moins 59 garçons et filles ont été tués et blessés, victimes de meurtres, de blessures, d'enlèvements et de violences sexuelles.
Ces enfants ont également été victimes de trafic d’êtres humains et de recrutement par des gangs.
Compte tenu de cette situation d'insécurité et de violence, Binuh recommande à la communauté internationale de maintenir Haïti à son agenda et d'accélérer le déploiement complet de la Mission multinationale de soutien à la sécurité, conformément aux normes et standards des droits de l'homme. www.haitiinfoonline.net
Il recommande également aux États de la région d'intensifier les inspections des marchandises à destination d'Haïti sur leur territoire, y compris dans les ports maritimes et les aéroports, conformément aux résolutions 2653 (2022) et 2752 (2024) du Conseil de sécurité de l'ONU, qui imposent un embargo sur les armes.
De même, il suggère que le gouvernement haïtien accélère l'application effective du processus de vérification des membres de la Police nationale et traduise en justice les agents impliqués dans de graves violations des droits de l'homme.

Dans l'enregistrement, Jackson apparaît brandissant des armes de gros calibre et déclarant son intention de dominer Arcahaie et d'y établir la base d'opérations du gang.
Affrontements avec des gangs
Ce message intervient peu après que, mardi dernier, la Police Nationale d'Haïti (PNH) ait tué 15 membres du gang, lors d'une opération conjointe avec la population locale à Williamson. Cette confrontation n’est qu’un des nombreux épisodes de violence récente qui ont laissé Haïti dans une tension croissante.
Les attaques des groupes armés ont contraint des milliers d'Haïtiens à quitter leurs foyers, cherchant refuge contre la menace constante des gangs criminels.
La situation en Haïti s'est aggravée au point que même la Mission de sécurité en Haïti (MSS) mène des opérations intenses dans le pays.
Lors d'une récente opération à Pont-Sondé, le MSS a tenté de capturer Luckson Elan, chef du gang « Gran Griff », responsable d'un récent massacre dans la région.
Malgré les efforts, Elan a réussi à s'enfuir, ce qui reflète la complexité de la lutte contre ces organisations criminelles qui opèrent dans diverses régions du pays et défient les efforts des autorités et de la communauté internationale.
De plus, au milieu de cette situation, la violence a touché les missions diplomatiques et le personnel des Nations Unies. Il a notamment dénoncé l'attaque "terrifiante et brutale" dans la ville de Pont-Sondé qui a fait "115 morts civils et des dizaines de blessés" le 3 octobre, mais a également évoqué une série d'attaques ces derniers jours dans la capitale Port-au-Prince. -Prince et au-delà, ainsi que la « brutalité sans précédent » des violences sexuelles contre les femmes et les filles.
