School is back in session at Institution Mixte Compassion Divine. Due to the increase in the number of students, additional staff has had to be hired to meet the students' needs. This year, it will cost $1,500 per month to pay 10 teachers, as well as support staff for the school. That is not per person, but for the collective body. Each staff member earns approximately $100 per month.

Please prayerfully consider being a monthly or a one-time donor to Equipping Haiti to help support this school, which teaches students from age 3 through 12. There are now more than 250 students who are getting an education in Haiti that would not be able to without your help.

School has started and we are receiving more students than ever before. Because we are trying to provide an education for students in Damien between the ages of 3 and 12, we need your help.

Equipping Haiti has started a fundraiser to come up with $15,000 to fund our school for an entire year. It would be a tremendous relief to be able to assure our teachers and staff that we can pay their salaries. May of the students and their families cannot pay the tuition, but we want to be able to provide them with an education to help break the cycle of poverty in Haiti. The first monthly payday is coming up Oct. 31.

School is still in session at Institution Mixte Compassion Divine through the end of July. The wonderful men and women who teach at the school earn less than $80 per month salary.

Now would would be a great time to help these teachers and this school. The next payday is June 28. Please consider making a donation to the school through Equipping Haiti to help pay teacher's salary and some much needed repairs and expansion to the school. A simple $100 contribution will pay one teacher for an entire month -- or pay to replace rafters in the roof that are sagging from age and decay.

Institution Mixte Compassion Divine is a primary school in Damien, Port au Prince, Haiti. Students attending Institution Mixte Compassion Divine are from age 3 through age 12. Many of these students are allowed to attend school without paying tuition. There are currently 161 students at IMCD.

Teachers at IMCD earn less than $100 per month. Imagine living in the US making less than $100 per month.

Wednesday is payday for the teachers. They get paid on the last day of the month. Please help me!

Equipping Haiti is partnering with IMCD to help providing funding for the school. Of course Equipping Haiti relies on contributions.

EXCITING NEWS!!! With the surplus funds we left behind from our recently completed mission trip, the process of pouring a concrete floor at Institution Mixte Compassion Divine is now underway.

Just nine days after being submerged under more than three feet of water, classes resumed at the Institution Mixte Compassion Divine in Damien.

On the first day back, some of the students worked to help shovel two truckloads of gravel onto the floor of the school, which had been covered by more than a foot of mud.

Just a little over a week ago, Institution Mixte Compassion Divine in Damien was devastated by a surprise flood, with more than 3 feet of water at its peak leaving nearly a foot of mud in the school. Now, with the dedication and hard work by school officials and and friends, the school is nearly ready to re-open for the final weeks of school. Thank you for your prayers and contributions.
