The institution also has a museum department and a university to train visual arts ,art history, modern languages, journalism, and development science.

🍟 Gagosian (@gagosian) has an exhibition of new works by Taryn Simon. Opening on March 20 at Park & 75, New York, it includes an interactive sculpture and a group of photographs that take an archaeological view of public attention and politics. On view now through April 26. 

✏️On display at MoMA PS1 is “Adult Theater”, the first US solo museum exhibition of New York City-based artist Julien Ceccaldi featuring a newly commissioned large-scale painting that transforms the first-floor MoMA PS1 galleries at an architectural scale. On view through August 25. 

🌸 Isabel Sullivan Gallery (@is.gallery.nyc) presents “Faced with a Choice Do Both”, Pia Dehne’s latest solo exhibition marking 20 years since her first New York show. There you will find unexpected objects camouflaged within the paintings, such as portraits of music icons, instruments, the sinister knitting hands of tricoteuses, or references to Renaissance and Baroque painting. On view now through April 19.

🌟 Lisson Gallery (@lisson_gallery) in Chelsea presents “Many Lives”, the first U.S. solo exhibition in over five years by Tatsuo Miyajima, one of Japan’s most celebrated sculptors and installation artists. Known for his innovative use of LED technology to explore Buddhist philosophy, Miyajima’s work investigates themes of time, existence, and the cycles of life and death. On view now through April 19.

🖊️ Marian Goodman Gallery New York (@mariangoodmangallery) presents a solo exhibition of Tavares Strachan (@tavaresstrachan) titled “Starless Midnight.” This immersive presentation features several new and existing bodies of work across seven diverse and site-specific environments. On view now through April 19.

💫 El Museo (@elmuseo) presents “Mestre Didi: Spiritual Form”, the first major U.S. museum exhibition in 25 years of the late Afro-Brazilian sculptor, writer, cultural advocate, and Candomblé priest Mestre Didi (Salvador, Bahia, 1917-2013). On view now through July 13.
