Botagoz Koilybayeva’s GoCritic! review of the feature-length debut of Kristina Dufková, “Living Large”, explores how the film thoughtfully tackles themes of adolescence, identity, and self-acceptance through its storytelling and animation. Want to be a part of the next cohort of GoCritic! writers and critics? 🎉

Apply by 17 October for the 2025-2026 cycle, which will consist of 10 participants across four partner festivals in the AFN network: , , , and . Articles and videos created by participants during the workshops will be published on .official and .

Selected participants will be provided with accommodation, up to 150 euros for travel expenses for each workshop, meals and drinks, press accreditation, access to all screenings, social and industry events, press conferences and parties.

GoCritic! is a training programme for emerging film writers and critics in collaboration with AFN - Animation Festival Network, in partnership with Cineuropa and Zippy Frames, and co-financed by the Creative Europe - MEDIA programme of the EU.

Please read and fill in the application form carefully, as the new edition includes some tweaks and changes as we work to improve the programme. 📝

We have launched the call for participants for the GoCritic! season 2025/26! Ten selected film journalists and critics will each take part in two workshops between December and July, in partnership with Animation Festival Network - Animateka, Anifilm, Animafest Zagreb and Fest Anca.
