💪🏽What a haul! We continue to clean Big Bight, in an area that is hardly accessed and cleaned up. In one hour, we removed 265lbs (120kg) and 651 plastic bottles.

We did it again! New record broken for most bottles collected in one hour: 1,092 bottles (beating our record of 1,061). And our total garbage collected was 313lbs (142kg).

✨4 months ago we started collecting all the caps and single use utensils we find on the beach… and boy do quantities speak for themselves! It’ll be interesting to see what the end of year looks like.

My hope is that everyone remembers this image before they purchase ‘just ONE bottle or utensil’…
Our work matters but our collective daily choices matter more.

💪🏽Today, we removed 461 plastic bottles from the beach and a total of 164lbs (75kg) of garbage. We welcomed students from the Utila Methodist School which was a great way to show the young people the importance of cleaning, classifying, and data collecting.

💪🏽Hoy retiramos 461 botellas de plástico de la playa y un total de 164 libras (75 kg) de basura. Recibimos a estudiantes de la Escuela Metodista de Utila, lo cual fue una excelente manera de mostrar a los jóvenes la importancia de limpiar, clasificar y recolectar datos.
