新學年將至，都大首間學生宿舍「MU88」正式啟用！🎉🔑

都大今早為MU88舉行開幕儀式，標誌着大學在提升學生學習與生活體驗的重要里程，進一步推動全人發展。💪🏆

作為香港首間應用科學大學，都大積極支持政府「留學香港」品牌推廣，並透過「城中學舍計劃」的政策支持及便利措施，將原有酒店改裝為設備完善、配套齊全的學生宿舍。🏢

位於紅磡的MU88為學生提供約430個宿位，並設有音樂室、討論室、瑜伽及靜思室等多元共享空間。MU88將設立「走讀生舍堂」（非住宿會員計劃），歡迎全日制本地生及非本地生成為非住宿會員，投入宿舍的各項活動，體驗舍堂生活。🤝

As the new academic year approaches, HKMU's first student residence, “MU88”, has officially opened! 🎉🔑

This morning, HKMU held the opening ceremony for “MU88”, marking a significant milestone in enhancing students’ learning and campus life experiences while further promoting holistic development. 💪🏆

As Hong Kong’s first university of applied sciences, HKMU actively supports the Government’s “Study in Hong Kong” initiative and has converted a hotel into a well-equipped, fully furnished student hostel, leveraging the policy support and facilitation measures under the “Hostels in the City Scheme”. 🏢

Located in Hung Hom, MU88 offers approximately 430 bed spaces for students and features a variety of communal areas, including a music room, a discussion room, a yoga room and a quiet room. MU88 will also establish a “Non-Resident Hall”, welcoming full-time local and non-local students to join as Non-residential Members. This initiative will allow them to participate in various hostel activities and experience hall life. 🤝

Ir Dr Conrad Wong Tin-cheung noted that MU88 is not just a hostel; it is also an extension of university education and an important platform for fostering student growth and interaction. 🌱💡

【都大學生參與清華、復旦國旗儀仗隊聯合升旗儀式及交流 🤝 HKMU students participate in a joint flag-raising ceremony and exchange activities with Tsinghua and Fudan Flag Honour Guards】

都大國旗護衛隊於8月15日（星期六）早上，在灣仔金紫荊廣場參與由香港青少年軍總會儀仗隊聯同清華大學學生國旗儀仗隊及復旦大學國旗護衛隊舉行的聯合升旗儀式。今年適逢中國共產黨成立105周年及長征勝利90周年，典禮別具意義。✨

都大國旗護衛隊成員亦有幸參與升旗儀式的隊列步操。典禮結束後，香港青少年軍總會、清華大學學生國旗儀仗隊及復旦大學國旗護衛隊到訪都大校園參觀，並與都大國旗護衛隊隊員交流，進一步加強三校青年之間的聯繫與互動。💬🌟

都大國旗護衛隊成員、修讀語言研究榮譽學士（應用中國語言）課程的余炳超說：「他們在升旗時所展現出的嚴明紀律、專業態度與濃厚的愛國情懷，令我深感動容。這次交流更讓我深刻體會到，作為新一代青年，我們對國家應有的那份擔當與熱誠。」

On the morning of 15 August (Saturday), the HKMU Student Flag-guard Team participated in a joint flag-raising ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai. The event was organised by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association (HKACA) Flag Guard, together with the Tsinghua University Student Flag Honour Guard and the Fudan University Flag Guard. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, lending special significance to the ceremony. ✨

Members of the HKMU Student Flag-guard Team also had the honour of taking part in the foot drill. Following the ceremony, the HKACA, the Tsinghua University Student Flag Honour Guard, and the Fudan University Flag Guard visited the HKMU campus, where they engaged in exchange activities with members of the HKMU Student Flag-guard Team, further strengthening ties and interaction among students from the three universities. 💬🌟

Yu Ping-chiu, a member of the HKMU Student Flag-guard Team and a student in the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Language Studies (Applied Chinese Language), said, “The strict discipline, professionalism, and patriotic spirit they demonstrated during the flag-raising ceremony deeply moved me. This exchange has also given me a deeper appreciation of the sense of responsibility and dedication that we, as the younger generation, should hold towards our country”

A warm welcome to all freshmen joining the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) family! The Student Affairs Office’s “Campus Life Induction Day 2026” was full of energy and excitement💪🏻, with enthusiastic participation from freshmen eager to explore HKMU’s vibrant campus activities, including joining societies and university sports teams, as they prepared to embark on a fruitful university life on campus.

President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing and Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement) Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong joined the event and interacted with new students. They welcomed everyone into the HKMU family and wished them an enriching experience on campus.

On the same day, three engaging “New Student Guide” talks were held📣, in which Student Ambassadors and senior-year students shared practical tips to help new students adapt smoothly to campus life.

To encourage new students to engage in campus activities, the Student Affairs Office launched a new initiative, called the “Pilot Your Own Sky Programme” ✈️:
• Target: Full-time Year 1 local undergraduate students.
• Activities: Overnight camps, gatherings, campus tours and peer-led activities, helping students build lifelong friendships and unlock their potential.
• Participants may receive priority consideration for the Summer Overseas Tour 2027.

Let’s embark on this new chapter at HKMU with confidence and passion, making it a journey of possibilities beyond limits! 🥳

【都大支援在囚人士學習 立德學院首屆通識教育副學士畢業 HKMU supports education for persons in custody as Ethics College sees first cohort of Associate of General Studies graduates 🎓】

香港都會大學（都大）一直與懲教署緊密合作，支援在「立德學院」的在囚人士持續進修。學院日前舉行第三屆畢業典禮，我們非常高興見證首批 14 名通識教育副學士學員，以及 73 名應用教育文憑學員順利畢業！ 👏🏻

都大校董會副主席湯修齊先生在典禮上勉勵畢業生：「知識無法改變過去，卻能幫助我們更好地準備未來。」學員在修讀期間展現出無比毅力，部分更考獲 A 級佳績，令人深受鼓舞！💪🏻

大學亦一直透過面授導修、大學週會及藝術活動等，全面支援學員「立學修德」，裝備他們將來重投社會。

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has been working closely with the Correctional Services Department (CSD) to support continuing education for persons in custody (PICs) at the Ethics College. The College recently held its third graduation ceremony, in which we were delighted to witness the graduation of the first cohort of 14 PIC students from the Associate of General Studies programme, as well as 73 students who completed the Diploma of Applied Education programme! 👏🏻

Encouraging the graduates at the ceremony, Mr Henry Tong, Deputy Chairman of the HKMU Council, said: “Knowledge cannot change the past, but it can help us better prepare for the future.” The students demonstrated immense perseverance during their studies, with some even attaining Grade A, which is highly encouraging! 💪🏻

The University has also provided comprehensive support for the students to “Seek Knowledge, Cultivate Virtue” through face-to-face tutorials, University assemblies and art activities, with the aim of equipping them to reintegrate into society in the future.

【都大團隊於「奧比斯未來視界領袖計劃」勇奪兩項大獎🏆 HKMU teams win two awards at the Orbis Future Vision Leaders Program🌟】

都大學生團隊以推動眼睛健康及社會共融的創新方案，於「奧比斯未來視界領袖計劃2025/26」總決賽中勇奪兩項「主題精英大獎」。👏

👩‍⚕️在醫療組勝出的四名護理學三年級同學，憑「社區願景」項目獲評審嘉許。團隊舉辦點字揮春工作坊、擴增實境模擬眼疾體驗及臨床主題「密室逃脫」活動，以生動有趣的方式推廣眼睛健康及眼疾預防知識。

在創業組勝出的四名環球商業一年級同學，憑「讓藝術觸手可及」項目脫穎而出。🎨該項目提出共融觸感藝術計劃，包括無障礙展覽和導賞服務，讓視障人士更容易接觸藝術及文化體驗。

Our student teams won two Theme Excellence Awards at the grand final of the Orbis Future Vision Leaders Program 2025/26 for their innovative projects promoting eye health and social inclusion. 👏

👩‍⚕️ In the Heal the Future category, four third-year Nursing students impressed the judges with their “Vision for the Community” project. Through a Braille fai chun workshop, augmented reality eye disease simulations and a clinical-themed “escape room” experience, they promoted eye health awareness and eye disease prevention in fun and engaging ways.

In the Visionary Start-up category, four first-year Global Business students stood out with their project “Art at Your Fingertips”. 🎨 The project proposes an inclusive tactile art programme, including accessible exhibitions and guided tours that help people with visual impairments enjoy greater access to arts and cultural experiences.
