SCHOOLS SUPERVISION VISIT – DAY THREE & FOUR
The Honourable Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, continued his school supervision tour of Southern Borno on Tuesday, 11th, and Wednesday, 12th February 2025.
Day Three – Hawul & Biu
The Commissioner and his team commenced their tour with an inspection of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Shaffa, where he announced that an intervention was underway to restore the boarding facility.
They proceeded to Government Secondary School, Sakwa, where plans were outlined to upgrade the school into a Centre of Excellence.
The day’s tour concluded with visits to Government Junior Day School, Gwanza, and Government Girls’ Senior Science Secondary School, Biu, where the Commissioner interacted with teachers and students and distributed dignity kits to adolescent girls.
Day Four – Biu & Shani
The Commissioner began Day Four with a visit to the Old Vocational Centre, Biu, where he announced that His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE, Executive Governor of Borno State, had directed its conversion into the Second Chance Women/Girls’ Skills Acquisition Centre, Biu.
He then proceeded to Shani, starting at the dilapidated Government Girls’ Secondary School, Shani, where he announced that His Excellency had directed an immediate intervention to address the school’s challenges.
The tour continued with visits to Government Secondary School, the Vocational Enterprise Institute, and the Central Primary and Junior Day School, where the Commissioner engaged with students and distributed dignity kits to adolescent girls.
The team then proceeded to Government Day Secondary School, Bargu, Government Day Secondary School, Kubo, and concluded the tour at Government Day Secondary School, Bilala Kutuki.
