🚀 HSUHK Start-ups at Brands Award 2026!

On 15 Aug, our CIE teams joined the Brands Award 2026 Exchange Programme, co-organised by JCI Queensway & Suigang-Link! 🇭🇰🤝🌏

☀️ AM: 40+ GBA founders & C-level execs from AI, Biotech & Smart Manufacturing visited HSUHK. Our start-up teams from our flagship project Start-up Explorer Series and GBA Youth Start-up and Social Innovation Programme shared their projects, while MSc-EM Programme Director Dr King-king Li and 2025/2026 graduate Mr Francis Chi also introduced the programme to prospective students.

🌙 PM: We set up a booth at HKPC Building! Our teams showcased their innovations and connected with with Dr Bernard Chan Pak-li, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and several business leaders on supply chain & cross-border opportunities.

On 14 August 2026, CIE took students on a journey to Nansha, Guangzhou to explore its entrepreneurial ecosystem through policy insights, founder stories, and hands-on experience.

Meet Hong Kong entrepreneurs in Nansha and hear their first-hand stories, insights, and experiences, while learning about Nansha’s latest entrepreneurship and talent support policies.

🎯 Afternoon | Sui-Gang Chain
Time to put ideas into action! Participants took on the “Cashflow Quadrant” simulation game, making decisions with limited resources while learning about resource allocation, cash flow management, and decision-making under pressure.

From understanding the ecosystem to hearing real stories and experiencing entrepreneurship first-hand, the Nansha journey offered new perspectives on what it takes to turn opportunities into action. 💡

Our Centre was honoured to be invited as a Supporting Organisation of the 15th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition – Qianhai Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Division.

At the launch ceremony on 12 Aug 2026 at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, Dr Holly Chung (Associate Director) received the official plaque on behalf of the Centre. 🤝

We're excited to support this national-level platform connecting young innovators across the region — and to encourage our students and alumni to get involved! 🚀

[CIE-GBA] Essential Hong Kong Company Law for Startups Workshop

Got a startup idea? 🇭🇰 Company law might sound intimidating, but we promise it doesn't have to be!

On 23 June, we hosted the 3rd session of our Thematic Start-up Training Series—"Essential Hong Kong Company Law for Startups Workshop"—and it was a great one! 🤓

Huge thanks to Hong Kong solicitor Mr. Alex Leung for joining us! With his background in loan financing, commercial transactions, and even bank compliance, he made the legal stuff super relatable.

We covered:
✅ Which business type to choose (so you don't pay for it later!)
✅ Simple governance tips to stay compliant
✅ What to watch out for when raising funds
✅ Who does what (director vs. shareholder duties)
