On Friday, we launched our new IEYC Unit, ‘Moving Up, Moving On’, through an Entry Point that had learners exploring a ‘time machine’ transporting them to the new school year! The Entry Point is designed to launch a ‘transition’ theme for the end of the children’s current year, as they prepare to move up to a new class – this could be a move from early years to primary school. Our children have differing emotions regarding the upcoming move and changes. Some are excited and looking forward to it, while others are not too keen, and it’s OK. In Jellyfish Class,​ Mrs. Kris invited a sibling alum in class to share more about her school life at HKIS. We are so glad to welcome Aurelia back to Small World, where she has grown so wonderfully and joyfully as a learner and friend! Additionally, we had a pleasant surprise from Toby Chung, our dear alumnus of the Class of 2011. It was such a meaningful visit, as children were able to converse with Toby and ask him questions about his university and other interests. A perfect day for launching our ‘Moving Up, Moving On’ Unit! 🚌🏫🖍️💙

Today, we honour all our beautiful mothers (grandmothers and caregivers), whose nurturing love reflects the themes the children explored. Through their guidance, strength, and compassion, as reflected in the Holy Scriptures, mothers help shape children into kind, caring, and thoughtful individuals. We are so blessed to have faith-filled and courageous mothers in our lives - you are a joy to partner with in our Small World! Together as partners, we are raising a generation rooted in kindness, curiosity, and compassion. Happy Mother’s Day! 💐👩🏻💖

On Friday, we welcomed mothers/grandmothers/caregivers to our special events: celebrating learning through the IEYC Exit Points and blessing all mothers through Mum’s Date (Mother’s Day). Our morning class learners shared their learning from the IEYC Unit, ‘Plants as Partners’, while the afternoon class presented ‘The Brilliant Bug Ball’, demonstrating their increasing understanding of the care, nurture, and responsibility of plants and bugs. On this day, children proudly shared with parents and caregivers what they had discovered: how plants support life and how even the smallest insects play vital roles in our environment. Their enthusiasm reflected both their growing knowledge and their ability to communicate and relate their learning to the world around them.

As we celebrated these learning journeys, we also celebrated mothers. Mothers are the real-life partners in every child’s growth. A mother’s love mirrors the nurturing spirit we see in nature, always providing constant care, guidance, and strength. May every mother be blessed and celebrated with her family tomorrow on Mother’s Day! 💖

Small World Christian Kindergarten offers international early childhood education for children aged 2 years 8 months to 6 years. We provide a learning environment of relationships that continue to nurture, to educate, and to love unconditionally every child placed in our care.

Age Eligibility for SY 2026/27:
- Junior Kindergarten (K1 equivalent): born in 2023; and Jan-Aug 2024 for early admissions
- Senior Kindergarten (K2/K3): born in 2022 or earlier

Welcome to our returning and new families in Small World - we are so glad you are here! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday, spending time with your families and lovely children. This week, our returning students were all eager to join their friends in class, whilst few new ones needed time to adapt to their new routine and environment. Nevertheless, we assure you that our teachers and leaders will continue to support you and your children’s transition to school, and we look forward to more playful learning opportunities next week! 😊
