This week, we delightfully began our new IEYC themes: ‘This is Me’ in the morning and ‘Healthy Habits’ in the afternoon, starting with the Ready Steady stage to help our learners get excited about their new topics. The Entry Point events were such a delight for everyone! In the morning, children proudly shared and paraded their favourite clothes, while in the afternoon, our little ones dressed up as doctors, surgeons, nurses, and paramedics, caring for their animal and doll friends in the classroom. Our first school assembly was a wonderful moment as we gathered together in the G/F hallway to sing favourite songs, show off our special clothes, and share what we know about health helpers. We are so pleased with this joyful start to the children’s learning journey, and we look forward to working together to ensure your child’s experiences are always filled with wonder, meaning, and happiness.😊

What a wonderful first week it has been! It is such a joy to watch the children settle into their new routines, forming new friendships, and building positive relationships with their teachers and classmates. Thank you for your partnership and support as we help the children transition smoothly into the school year.

As the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is now in force, the Education Bureau (EDB) has announced at 5.30am today (27 August) that classes of all AM schools and whole-day schools are suspended today.

Please DO NOT send your children to school.

Welcome to all our learners and parent community - we are delighted you’re here! Recently, we had an orientation to acquaint our learning community with our Small World. Thank you to everyone who attended the Orientation Day - we hope our families and learners had a wonderful time in school, playfully exploring the classrooms and meeting classroom teachers, new friends, and families.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all the new families who joined us for our morning coffee session. We hope the session provided a cosy space for you to connect with fellow parents, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of our school’s vision, values, and daily routines.

At Small World, we strive to create a warm, nurturing community where every child feels supported and inspired to grow. Partnering with you is at the heart of everything we do, and we are grateful to have you as part of our school family. ❤️

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to our graduating learners and their families, who have become an integral part of the Small World community. This week, we held a beautiful graduation ceremony at Union Church for the Senior Kindergarten Class of 2026: Dolphin Class, Jellyfish Class, and Curious Bear PM Class. Mrs. Allison Wong, Mr. Andy Tung, our Board Co-chairs, and Principal Mrs. Tess Baguio shared many proud and emotional moments as they presented each graduate with their certificate and Bible. We were grateful for the musical performance by our alumna, Manuela, who accompanied the children’s singing on her cello. The two pieces, all-time favourites of our learners, ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and ‘Lift My Eyes to the Hills’, helped create lasting memories of this joyful occasion. Thank you, Manuela, for your music and generosity! Our graduates also prepared several songs for their parents as a token of love and gratitude, rehearsing daily with their teachers.

Thank you to Alia Eyres for the beautiful speech and for sharing her personal stories and fond memories of Small World. Every child is a promise and a possibility, each one unique and special, as our Father God designed them from the onset. To all our parents, you are the true heroes of your children, the strongest pillar in their young and developing lives. Your unwavering love, support, and commitment to their education have been instrumental in their growth. Thank you for entrusting your precious little ones to Small World and for being a special and important part of our community. We will miss each of our graduates. Seeing how each child has grown affirms the hopes and dreams we held for them. 🎓❤️

This past week, the grandmother of one of our former students visited and shared the traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival with the children through art and calligraphy. It was a meaningful and enriching experience for our young learners.

We are truly grateful for the strong connections we continue to have with our families, and we deeply appreciate their generosity in sharing their time, talents, and cultural traditions with our community.

It was a great pleasure to see many of you, both in school and online, at this week’s Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC), celebrating your children’s leaps and bounds in their learning and developmental milestones. We loved listening to every class’s learning dialogues, home stories, and conversations, as teachers meaningfully consolidated these narratives while reflecting on each child’s growth and progress in school. As the academic year draws to a close, our hearts are full of joy and gratitude for our amazing community of learners, parents, teachers, and leaders. We are thankful for your care and support throughout the year, which has helped Small World nurture and improve learning for our little learners. We are proud of our students, especially their strong connections and friendships with peers, classmates, and teachers​! 🙏❤️🌟
