Judges' Comments & Final Decision 24/03/2012

The judges give comments about this year's auditions and reveal the list of this year's finalists. Apologies as due to technical difficulties the first bit has been cut off and will be posted in text form in the following paragraphs.

Firstly, Mr. Naz felt that this year was pretty special in the sense that there were more dance groups this year which was different from previous years. After watching all the auditions he could also tell that our school is bursting with talent and looks forward to all of the students honing their talents and becoming future stars. As for advice, he said that future students auditioning should attempt to catch the judges' eye as early on in the audition as possible, as they have to review almost 30 different auditions and this is a long and difficult process, so first impression is highly important and making a good one will definitely increase your chances of reaching the final.

Percy on the other hand, commented that in the future those auditioning should try and make use of the space more - the singers in particular as they were mostly all static and did not incorporate that much movement into their audition.

The 1st group that got into the final (which was revealed in no particular order at all) was Sam Chen's group. Percy labelled them '5 sexy little girls' and Mr. Nazereno fully enjoyed watching their performance as their dance was energetic and caught the attention of the whole school, so well done to them.

The 2nd group was David Yu's group which performed a rendition of the Haka dance originating from the Maori people of New Zealand. Their dance was very unique and definitely stood out from this year's audition according to the judges and it was satisfying to see such a different audition this year. Although they did enjoy the performance, the judges did think that it was too short and hopefully the group would be able to lengthen this to 2 minutes or longer to have a good shot at winning in the final.

The other groups will be revealed and talked about in the video below.

Thank you to all the people that auditioned this year and the judges, us House captains and everyone in the school feel so blessed to be surrounded by so much talent and hope that all of us give our all towards developing our respected talents to reach our full potential in the future.

Many thanks to our wonderful judges Mr. Nazereno & Percy for giving up their time to judge the auditions.
