Welcome to HKUST Wine Alumni Association page! Our goal is to to engage and connect alumni through wine appreciation activities. Join us now!

The objectives of the Association shall be:

1. to engage and connect alumni through wine appreciation activities;

2. to promote wine appreciation culture among alumni and students;

3. to promote the advancement of wine knowledge for work or for leisure;

4. to promote responsible drinking among members;

5. to carry on and do any of the above matters either alone or in conjunction with other

organizations or persons.

We are now recruiting for the HKUST Student W**e Team to compete in the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup 2027, an international w**e tasting competition.

Over the past 12 years, our team has won the Hong Kong round four times, earning the chance to represent Hong Kong in the finals held in France.

An information session will be held on campus on 21 September 2026.

Boldness — Trying the Impossible of California W**e 🍇✨

August is California W**e Month! 🌞 This year, we’re celebrating a historic milestone: the 50th Anniversary of the Judgment of Paris — the legendary 1976 blind tasting that put California on the global w**e map. 🏆🇺🇸🇫🇷

At the heart of California W**es’ identity is BOLDNESS — the daring spirit to challenge conventions, redefine quality and taste the impossible. In this afternoon, we poured 6 bold stories into glasses. 🍷

Had such a fun and cozy sharing & tasting session with the amazing Anty Anty Fung — always a joy to explore bold flavors and toast the moment together. Can’t wait to uncork more stories and celebrate this golden legacy together. Cheers! 🥂❤️

50 years ago, the Judgment of Paris changed the world of w**e forever. California w**es triumphed over French classics in a blind tasting – and a new era of boldness was born.

This August, we’re celebrating the 50th Anniversary of that historic moment, alongside HKUST‘s 35th Anniversary, with an exclusive afternoon at HKUST Alumni Commons.

Join us for an intimate tasting and conversation with Anty Fung (DipWSET, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of W**e), founder of mato and one of Hong Kong’s most respected w**e educators. She‘ll guide us through a curated selection of California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – sharing stories of the Golden State’s w**emaking revolution and the spirit of boldness that defines California w**es today.
