| 🌲 CUHK Sustainability in Action (3) Campus Thrives in Summer 🦉|

CUHK’s luxuriant campus is home to over 300 plant species. In the blazing summer, the trees thrive vigorously. The campus is dominated by vibrant hues of colours, including flame tree, queen crape myrtle, yellow poinciana, frangipani, sea hibiscus, etc., all in their unique forms 🌷🌹🌻

CUHK campus provides habitats for a wide variety of fauna, and its biodiversity is considered a treasure among local campuses. Over 130 bird species have been recorded on campus. Have you ever noticed their fluttering presence 🐦‍ ?

Today, 5 June 2026, marks World Environment Day. This year’s theme, ‘Now for Climate’ focuses on climate action and green transformation. It reminds us the signals of climate change are already clear. Action is no longer optional, but necessary ✨

CUHK is committed to advancing sustainable development and supporting climate action through various campus-wide initiatives, including:

🟢 Launching the ‘Solar on Campus’ initiative to increase renewable energy generation on campus and reduce carbon emissions
🟢 Implementing the ‘Green Mobility for Blue Sky’ initiative to enhance electric vehicle charging facilities and promote greener mobility on campus
