Most classical musicians don’t lack discipline.

They’re just practicing the wrong way.

You can spend hours on your instrument and still feel stuck — not because you’re not working hard, but because mindless repetition doesn’t create real progress.
The musicians who improve faster don’t necessarily practice more.
They practice with clarity, intention, and strategy.
If your practice feels frustrating or inconsistent, it’s usually not a time problem — it’s a method problem.
Start shifting from:
“How long did I practice?”
to
“How effective was my practice?”
That’s where real improvement begins.

Follow for more classical music practice strategies.

One question from my professor changed everything about how I play.

I was a teen, working on a Villa‑Lobos prelude at the conservatory, when he stopped me mid‑phrase and asked:
“You play beautifully… but why do you play it like that? What’s the idea behind it?”

I had no answer. I had been playing that piece for months — and I had absolutely no idea why.

That was the moment I stopped copying and started thinking like a musician.

Now, at Inspiro Music Conservatoire in Wong Chuk Hang, I ask my students the same question:

“Why do you play it this way?”

The answer to that question can take you further than years of practice alone

Gold, again 🥇
HKSMSA Classical Guitar — and more proud of how he played than the result itself.

Understanding the music. Shaping the phrasing, sound, and dynamics. Performing before the day — in concerts and recordings — so the stage feels familiar.

That’s what we build at Inspiro.

One of the most anticipated arrivals at our Wong Chuk Hang studio — a handmade classical guitar from Chioggia, made in Italy by world‑renowned luthier .

Known for his meticulous attention to detail, builds each instrument entirely by hand, with a waiting time of two to three months for every piece.
This guitar has a cedar top and fine Indian rosewood sides and back.
Not only it has a way-above-average loudness but it provides an excellent projection and great sustained tones with a perfect balance between bright trebles and deep warm basses— a sound both refined and intimate.

Elegant, balanced, and comfortable to play, it captures that rare harmony between precision and soul that defines the finest made‑in‑Italy instruments.

To hear what makes this guitar so special, get in touch with us or visit in Hong Kong.
