The 24th Annual APacCHRIE Conference, together with the 17th APacCHRIE Youth Conference, will be held for the first time in Japan from 28–31 May 2026 in Osaka, co‑hosted by and Ritsumeikan Business School.

Under the theme “Futurising Tourism and Hospitality: Embracing New Challenges and Innovation,” the conference brings together educators, researchers, industry practitioners, and students in hospitality and tourism to examine key issues such as sustainability, responsible tourism, human capital development, and digital transformation.

The APacCHRIE successfully wrapped up at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu! A heartfelt thank you to our host, University, for hosting us and organizing the event! 💐💐

Following the opening remarks by Prof. Kaye Chon, Founding Chair of APacCHRIE and Dean of School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, we enjoyed a series of insightful presentations from distinguished speakers from different sectors. 🎤

We are deeply grateful to our board members for sharing their valuable perspectives during the panel discussion on “The Future of Tourism and Hospitality Education”🙏. Special thanks to the leaders of APacCHRIE for introducing our organization, providing updates, and speaking about how to make a greater on society.

The board meeting was held on the second day, where the achievements and dedication of our board members were recognized. We also received exciting updates from our host of the upcoming Conference in , which is now in full preparation!

Dear APacCHRIE Members:

It is with deep honor and humility that I step into the role of president of APacCHRIE for the 2025–2026 term. I extend my warmest greetings to each of you from across the Asia pacific region and beyond.

I would also like to sincerely thank our founding president and all past presidents for their visionary leadership and dedication. Their contributions have laid a strong foundation for APacCHRIE’s growth and influence across the region.

I am committed to continuing their remarkable legacy they have built.

For the year ahead, I invite you to join me in embracing three guiding themes:
Empathy, Connection, and Insight.

Empathy is the heart of hospitality. As educators, researchers, and practitioners, we lead with understanding. Our ability to listen deeply and to act compassionately defines the strength of our community.

Connection is our foundation. APacCHRIE is more than a network. Over the coming year, I hope to foster richer collaborations and a renewed sense of belonging among our members.

Insight is our shared future. Our collective knowledge shapes the hospitality and tourism industry. Let us continue to spark new ideas, question with courage, and build a better future through shared wisdom.
