In education, we talk a lot about problem-solving 🧠 and design thinking💡—but how often do we pause and ask: Are we rushing into solutions? ⏩

Before we ask students to solve a problem, we need to teach them how to understand it. Instead of jumping straight to answers, encourage students to slow down and consider:

🔍 What happened?
📈 What patterns or trends are emerging?
🏗️ What systems or structures are influencing these patterns?
🧭 What mental models—beliefs, assumptions, values—are shaping our thinking?

This approach helps us move beyond surface-level fixes to address the root causes of challenges. It also shifts our mindset from solution-first thinking to systems thinking—so students become not just better problem solvers, but better thinkers 💭.
