剛於3月份，星河科研社方社長帶領一行7人的香港仔工業學校師生到西藏天文研學，在拉薩遊歷幾日後，便再到海拔四五千米的羊卓雍湖及普莫雍措觀星攝星，這大概是香港學界的一項紀錄。回來後聽同學們分享，他們在天文知識或觀星體驗以外的得著更大，尤其在極地艱辛環境中，能夠克服挑戰、突破自我，既拓闊了視野，也讓個人成長更上一層樓。
In March, Galaxy Scientific Group director Mr Fong led seven teachers and students from Aberdeen Technical School to Tibet for an astronomy study tour. After a few days in Lhasa, we went to Yamdrok Lake and Puma Yumco at 4,000–5,000 metres for stargazing and astrophotography, likely a record for Hong Kong’s schools. On returning, students shared that beyond astronomical knowledge and observing experience, their greater gains came from overcoming challenges in the harsh high‑altitude environment—broadening their horizons and elevating their personal growth.

早前進行星空測試，結果十分理想。
1. 這台鏡的機械造工十分好，如業界裡常叫的"built like a tank"，三片式APO鏡頭採用一片日本SD玻璃及一片ED玻璃，官網上的測試樣本修正度達97.% Strehl，已是業界裡傳奇品牌TMB-LZOS的水平了。接上頂級行星目鏡TMB Supermonocentric目鏡及TMB 1.8x ED barlow，織女星是純白沒色差的，木星雲帶及大紅斑對比度非一般折反射鏡能比，在香港近郊，受惠於這鏡的高對比度，一些主要深空天體形態也十分易見。當然，始終口徑只有60mm，很難做深入的目視觀測，但帶出去觀察或紀錄日月食等天象，則十分理想。

NAKOH 60GT Test Report
NAKOH is a new Japanese telescope brand. Galaxy Scientific Group was recently invited to become the exclusive distributor in Hong Kong. Its first product lineup includes the 60GT apochromatic refractor, a 0.65× focal reducer, and a 1.0× field flattener. The 60GT is positioned as one of the highest-corrected refractors on the market for both visual observation and astrophotography.

We conducted field tests under the night sky, and the results were very impressive.
1. Visual Performance
The mechanical construction of the 60GT is excellent - truly“built like a tank.” The triplet APO objective uses one Japanese SD glass element and one ED element. According to the manufacturer’s test sample data, the optical correction reaches 97% Strehl, which is on par with legendary brands such as TMB-LZOS. When paired with a premium planetary eyepiece (TMB Supermonocentric) and a TMB 1.8× ED Barlow, Vega appeared pure white with no detectable chromatic aberration. Jupiter's cloud bands and the Great Red Spot showed contrast levels that are difficult for typical catadioptric systems to match. Even under suburban Hong Kong skies, the high contrast of this telescope made the structure of several major deep-sky objects clearly visible. Of course, with an aperture of only 60mm, it is difficult to perform very indepth visual observations. However, it is an excellent choice for portable observing or for documenting astronomical events such as solar and lunar eclipses.

2. Astrophotography Performance
The telescope was tested with a Canon EOS Ra full-frame astronomy camera. Manual focus was achieved quickly and effortlessly using a Bahtinov mask. Both the 0.65× focal reducer and the 1.0× field flattener performed as specified. Star correction and vignetting control were consistent with the official specifications. The imaging system fully covers a full-frame sensor with excellent star quality across the field. Sample test star-field images (RAW converted to TIFF) can be downloaded from the links below:

這鏡材涉及很多應用科學，有限元設計、玻璃選料、建造熔爐、溫度控制、造模、退火、研磨拋光，以至日後如何組裝成望遠鏡等，單造一片鏡的加熱及降溫退火電費都以港幣千元計了。The production of this mirror substrate involves a wide range of applied sciences, including finite element design, glass material selection, furnace construction, temperature control, mold fabrication, annealing, grinding and polishing, as well as the subsequent integration into a complete telescope system. The electricity cost alone for heating and controlled cooling (annealing) of a single mirror blank runs into the thousands HKD.

Heliostar 100Hα採用 100mm 高性能 H‑α 太陽觀測設計，帶來

這次到意大利驗收星河科研社全資擁有的 1 米科研望遠鏡，完成後將運往南非安裝建立新據點，提供廣泛科學觀測服務；另一台 0.7 米鏡亦同步推進。This time I traveled to Italy to inspect and accept the 1‑meter research telescope wholly owned by Galaxy Scientific Group. Once completed, it will be shipped to South Africa to establish a new site providing comprehensive scientific observation services. A 0.7‑meter telescope is progressing in parallel.

2026-03西藏團結束回港，上載幾張旅程及冬夏季銀河照。西藏的星空主題酒店也起動了，要趕及6月30日完成裝修，會進一步強化日後西藏觀星團配套。這次旅程共有20位團友參加，包括8位香港仔工業學校師生團友，為首次有香港中學組團參與，除在拉薩住宿香格里拉酒店及羊卓雍措藏族村長家，同時也出動了5部露營車，方便其中兩晚在羊卓雍措日托寺及藍冰湖普莫雍措過夜觀星。Back in Hong Kong after the March 2026 Tibet tour, sharing a few trip photos, including winter and summer Milky Way shots. The stargazing-themed hotel project in Tibet has begun and is targeted for completion by June 30, strengthening support for future tours. This trip was joined by a total of 20 participants, including 8 teacher and students from Aberdeen Technical School in Hong Kong, the first Hong Kong secondary school group to join. In addition to staying at the Shangri‑La Hotel in Lhasa and at a Tibetan village chief’s home by Yamdrok Lake, we also deployed five camper vans, allowing us to spend two nights stargazing at Ritö Monastery on Yamdrok Lake and at the blue ice lake, Puma Yumco.
