Grateful for the Past, Hopeful for the Future
Members of the Maryknoll community, alongside Maryknoll Sisters and aspirants, gathered today for a visit to St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, followed by a sharing session organized by the Committee on Maryknoll Spirit in MCS Education. This gathering served as a meaningful tribute to the Sisters who dedicated their lives to Hong Kong—a time of prayer, reflection, and deep appreciation for a missionary heritage that continues to shape us.
The visit was particularly significant as our city mourns in the shadow of the recent tragic fire. Surrounded by the history of those who served before us, we reflected on the difficult questions of life and death. The silence of the cemetery offered us a space to process our collective grief and find a sense of peace.
As we transition from Thanksgiving week to lighting the candle of Hope for Advent, this moment calls us to remembrance. We remain deeply grateful for the Maryknoll Sisters’ contributions to our community, and we strive to pass on their spirit of service and love to future generations.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Let us carry the light the Sisters left behind, holding onto hope—especially during times of difficulty and sorrow.

Despite the unstable weather, we are grateful that our 21st AGM took place as scheduled on September 20. Thank you everyone who attended, and we are especially grateful to have Maryknoll Sisters joining us; your presence made the event exceptional.
In the meeting, we joyfully shared the memorable moments from our Centenary Celebrations, learned about new initiatives that transform our Symposium content into engaging educational resources, and received important updates about The Knoll revitalization project. We also highlighted the expansive work of the Committee on Maryknoll Spirit in MCS Education, as the team put in great effort to uphold and strengthen our Maryknoll Spirit rooted deeply in the Catholic faith.
Supervisors delivered insightful updates on both the primary and secondary sections, while a representative from the Educational Trust also made a fruitful sharing. Last but not least, a special shoutout to our former Councillors for their unwavering dedication and support to the Foundation during their tenure, and a warm welcome to our newly appointed and elected Councillors and Executive Members! We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our Alumnae Choir, who graced the AGM with their angelic voices. Their beautiful rendition of our school song reminded us of the strong bonds and cherished memories we share.
