The HKU Laboratory for Space Research (LSR) is delighted to present a special classical music concert, La Symphonie de l’Universe (The Symphony of the Universe), as part of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Regional IAU Meeting (APRIM2026).

The concert will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 7PM to 8PM at the Grand Hall of the Lee Shau Kee Conference Centre, The University of Hong Kong.

Specially commissioned for APRIM2026, this original 10-movement symphony by award-winning local composer Shirley Choi takes the form of a musical journey through space. The performance will be brought to life by a unique combined orchestra of able and disabled musicians from the Hong Kong Arts without Boundaries Foundation, with all proceeds supporting the ongoing work of the Foundation.

LSR warmly invites you to join this unique event, where music and science come together in celebration of creativity, inclusivity, and the wonders of the universe.

Tickets are priced at HKD 300, HKD 340, and HKD 380. For programme details and booking, please visit:

We warmly encourage alumni to join this musical journey through space.

Best regards,
Laboratory for Space Research
