🥉 Our Athletics Team Wins Overall Team 2nd Runner-Up in the Yuen Long District Athletics All-Round Competition!

Sweat, determination and personal breakthroughs! At the Yuen Long District Primary School Athletics All-Round Competition held in late August, our school athletics team delivered an outstanding performance and was awarded Overall Team 2nd Runner-Up.

The All-Round Competition is highly challenging. It tests not only speed and strength, but also athletes’ all-round fitness, skills and determination. Our four Primary 6 athletes gave their all on the competition. Every stride and every jump reflected the results of their hard work and dedicated training.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the athletics coach and teachers for their careful guidance, as well as to the parents for their continued support and encouragement. May our students continue to embrace challenges with courage and perseverance, push beyond their limits, and achieve even more in the future!

On 1 September, our Parent-Teacher Association, together with a group of dedicated parents, thoughtfully organised a warm and generous Teacher Appreciation Lunch for all members of staff. The hall was filled with laughter, warm wishes and heartfelt appreciation.

Our sincere thanks go to the PTA and every parent involved in the preparation. Your generous gift of time, care and effort brought great encouragement to our teachers and staff at the beginning of the new school year. More than a lovely shared meal, the occasion was a meaningful reflection of the trust, partnership and mutual support between home and school.

🌌 仰望星空．逐夢前行：一堂來自太空的課

今天第三及四節課，本校同學一同實時觀看「天宮課堂・港澳專場」太空授課活動。這項由香港特別行政區政府、澳門特別行政區政府及中國載人航天工程辦公室共同主辦的活動，讓港澳學生透過直播走進浩瀚太空，親身感受國家航天科技的魅力。

課堂上，正在中國空間站執行任務的神舟二十三號乘組──指令長朱楊柱博士、航天員張志遠先生，以及香港首位載荷專家黎家盈博士，化身「太空教師」，進行專家講解、實時科學實驗示範，並與學生展開天地互動對話。

直播開始前，潘校長特別鼓勵同學珍惜這次難得的學習機會，細心認識我國航天科技的發展，並聆聽黎家盈博士的分享。當遙遠的太空站透過螢幕走進課室，同學們懷着好奇與期待，一同探索科學的奧妙，也為國家航天事業的成就感到自豪。

黎家盈博士在分享中勉勵同學，學習科學要先細心觀察、勇於提出問題，再以實驗和證據尋找答案。這番話讓同學明白，探索未知的起點，可以是一份好奇心，也可以是一個勇敢發問的問題。

願今天的「天宮課堂」，在同學心中播下好奇、探索與追夢的種子；讓大家勇於發問、敢於想像，並在未來以知識和努力，向着自己的星辰大海前行。✨

🌌 Looking to the Stars, Moving Towards Our Dreams: A Lesson from Space

During the third and fourth lessons today, our students watched the live broadcast of the Tiangong Classroom: Hong Kong and Macao Special Session. Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the China Manned Space Agency, this special learning experience enabled students in Hong Kong and Macao to journey into the vastness of space and discover the wonders of our country’s space technology.

During the lesson, the Shenzhou-23 crew, who are currently carrying out their mission aboard the China Space Station—Commander Dr Zhu Yangzhu, astronaut Mr Zhang Zhiyuan, and Dr Lai Ka-ying, Hong Kong’s first payload specialist—became “space teachers”. They shared their expertise, demonstrated science experiments live from space and engaged in an inspiring space-to-ground dialogue with students.

Before the broadcast began, Principal P**n encouraged students to treasure this rare learning opportunity: to learn more about the development of our country’s space technology and to listen carefully to Dr Lai’s sharing. As the distant space station entered our classrooms through the screen, students watched with curiosity and excitement, exploring the wonders of science and feeling proud of our country’s achievements in space exploration.

In her sharing, Dr Lai encouraged students to learn science by observing carefully, asking questions bravely, and using experiments and evidence to find answers. Her words reminded our students that the journey of discovery may begin with simple curiosity—or with the courage to ask a meaningful question. Dr Lai also highlighted the importance of mathematics, science, language foundations, communication and teamwork in turning knowledge into practical contributions.

May today’s Tiangong Classroom plant seeds of curiosity, exploration and aspiration in our students’ hearts. May they continue to ask questions boldly, imagine freely and move towards their own “sea of stars” through knowledge and perseverance. ✨

2027–2028年度小一入學首輪面試圓滿完成

本校2027–2028年度小一入學首輪面試已於9月4日及5日順利完成。兩天天朗氣清，校園內洋溢著孩子們的笑聲與期待；在家長的積極配合下，整個面試流程井然有序、圓滿進行。

衷心感謝每一位到校參與面試的孩子和家長。孩子們以好奇、投入的態度迎接不同活動，為校園帶來了無限朝氣；家長的信任、耐心與配合，亦讓整個過程倍感溫暖。

The first-round Primary 1 admission interviews for the 2027–2028 academic year were successfully held on 4 and 5 September. Blessed with fine weather on both days, our campus was filled with children’s laughter and excitement. With parents’ wholehearted cooperation, the interview process was conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner.

We sincerely thank every child and parent who joined us for the interviews. The children approached each activity with curiosity and enthusiasm, bringing wonderful energy to our campus. The trust, patience and cooperation shown by parents also made the occasion especially warm and meaningful.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to all teachers, staff members and student ambassadors for their dedicated support. From reception and waiting-area arrangements to activity facilitation and interview sessions, every member of the team welcomed families with warm smiles, thoughtful care and professionalism, allowing parents and children to experience the warmth of the WFJLPS community.

Thank you all for giving us the opportunity to get to know every child with wonderful potential. We look forward to welcoming parents and children again at the second-round interviews!

📚✨ 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥! 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬!✨📚

Despite the light drizzle this morning, the campus was buzzing with energy! Principal P**n and teachers were at the school gate bright and early, warmly welcoming every student back for a brand new year of learning.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, our Opening Ceremony began! Our teachers' hilarious skit had the whole hall in stitches, while cleverly introducing this year's theme — "Heart to Heart".

Principal P**n then shared some heartfelt words, explaining what "Heart to Heart" truly means — encouraging every student to be empathetic towards others and selfless in helping those around them, and to pass this spirit of care on to classmates, friends, family, and even our wider community.

As our school celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, "Heart to Heart" beautifully reflects the belief we have held for a quarter of a century — connecting with one another, heart to heart, with love 💗

今天早雖然細雨朦朧，但校園處處充滿朝氣！校長和老師們早晨已經在校門熱情迎接每一位同學返回校園，開展全新的學習旅程。

升旗禮後，開學典禮正式舉行！老師們精心演出的小品，逗得全場同學捧腹大笑，同時亦巧妙地帶出了本學年的年度主題——「Heart to Heart 傳心•承志」。

隨後，校長為同學們送上勉勵的話語，闡釋「Heart to Heart」背後的意義——期望每位同學都能夠學會用同理心體諒他人，用無私的精神幫助身邊的同學和朋友，將這份關愛之心，傳給身邊的同學、朋友、家人，以至我們的社區。

In April, our school successfully organised the Hangzhou and Ningbo Sister Schools STEM Exchange Tour, giving students the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and explore the limitless possibilities of STEM learning through visits, exchanges and hands-on activities.

RTHK Putonghua’s programme "New People, Big World" took a keen interest in this exchange experience and invited four student representatives and teacher to be interviewed on its STEM Mobilisation segment on 15 August. They shared their memorable experiences, learning journey and takeaways from the trip.

🔊Latest Arrangements Under Adverse Weather Conditions

As the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is currently in force, the School will be closed today (27 August) in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Education Bureau. The Primary One Orientation Day scheduled for today will therefore be cancelled.

Students and parents are advised to stay in a safe place and pay close attention to the latest weather conditions.

The latest arrangements for the scheduled activities are as follows:

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤!

The new school year is almost here, and our teachers and staff have been busy getting everything ready for our students’ return!

On 20 August, the WFJLPS team came together for an energising Team Building Day. Through a series of thoughtfully designed games and challenges, we laughed, collaborated and encouraged one another — recharging both physically and mentally while strengthening the bonds that help us work as one team.

Behind the scenes, our teachers are also preparing with great care for the Primary 1 Orientation Day on 27 August, as we look forward to welcoming our newest students and their families. A Parents’ Zoom Meeting will follow on 29 August, where we will share helpful reminders and important information for a smooth, happy start to the new academic year.

With renewed energy, warm hearts and careful preparation, we are ready to welcome every student back to school for another wonderful year of learning, growth and discovery!
