Kathak Hong Kong-Sri Shakti Academy Sri Shakti Academy is a leading Kathak academy in Hong Kong since 2003. Base: Hong Kong Neesha Jhaveri, a Kathak performer, teacher and choreographer.

North Indian classical dance form originating in temples to tell a story and more, Kathak - a style so mathematical, graceful, soft yet so deep. Sri Shakti Academy was founded in 2003 by three internationally acclaimed Indian classical dancers, including Ms Neesha Jhaveri. With the migration of of two of its founder members, Sri Shakti Academy continues to remain active under the guidance of Ms. H

er attempt is to teach and share her knowledge of Kathak with those interested in Hong Kong. Kathak is a beautiful North Indian classical dance form that has a unique style and entails both drama and technical aspects of dance. For more information on classes:

1. Students of SSA will be performing at the Sri Krishna Janmashtami Festival of Joy Fun Fair by Isckon on 12 Sep 2026 (Saturday) at Kowloon Park Piazza. Catch then in action between 4:50-5 pm!
2. Students of SSA will also be performing at the 13th International Hindi Conference by Bhasha Sahodari on 14 September 2026 (Hindi diwas), where our Guru Neeshaji will also be special guest addressing the audience on the spreading of Indian culture and heritage in HK

Our Guru Neesha ji will be participating in the rehearsal and performance of the “Echoes of the Silk Road: New Sounds of Hu Music” concert on 24th and 25 July. The Leisure and Cultural Service Department of the HKSAR, in collaboration with China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Member Association (HKL&A) are organizing the event at the Theatre of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre.
