【浸大前海研究院承辦「深圳創投日」生物醫療項目路演】

連結創業投資同創新科技，推動生物醫療更進一步！💡🧬

香港浸會大學前海科技創新創業研究院（浸大前海研究院）最近承辦咗「深圳創投日」南方創投網生物醫療項目專場路演，活動由深圳市地方金融管理局同深圳市科技創新局主辦齊集超過100位黎自投資機構、大專院校同創科企業嘅代表到場交流🤝。

浸大知識轉移處經理兼浸大前海研究院副主任葉凱廷先生表示，前海研究院作為深港合作嘅重要平台，會持續協助生物醫療創新項目喺大灣區📍落地生根🌱。

活動中，六隊由浸大成員成立嘅初創團隊輪流進行路演，展示佢哋喺生物醫療領域嘅創新實力🔬，有望加強深港創投機構同佢哋嘅對接🔌，幫助企業拓闊融資渠道📈。

【HKBU Qianhai Institute supports “Venture Capital Day of Shenzhen” - roadshow of biomedical start-ups】

Bridging venture capital and innovation to drive biomedical advances! 💡🧬

HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HKBU Qianhai Institute) recently supported the “Venture Capital Day of Shenzhen” - roadshow of biomedical start-ups, bringing together more than 100 representatives from investment firms, universities and innovation and technology companies for exchange 🤝. The event was organised by the Shenzhen Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau and the Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality 🏢.

Mr Steven Yip, Manager of HKBU’s Knowledge Transfer Office and Deputy Director of HKBU Qianhai Institute, noted that as a key platform for Shenzhen–Hong Kong collaboration, the Institute will continue to help biomedical innovation take root in the Greater Bay Area 📍🌱.

The roadshow showcased 6 HKBU start-up teams and their biomedical innovations 🔬. Through pitching and networking 💬📢, it strengthened links between venture capital firms and their companies🔌to expand financing channels 📈.

Ready to take your research or innovative ideas from campus to market? Opportunity’s knocking!

💡The TSSSU scheme is now open for applications📲! Implemented by HKBU for years, the scheme features two streams: TSSSU-O (the original scheme) and TSSSU+ (an enhanced scheme, providing matched funding for selected start-ups with private investment). TSSSU-O offers up to HKD 1 million annually to support commercialisation💰, while TSSSU+ offers up to HK$1.5 million per year to help start-ups raise more capital and accelerate growth💰💰.

Who can apply? If you are:
1️⃣ Academic or research staff member at HKBU
2️⃣ Full-time or part-time student at HKBU (except sub-degree programmes)
3️⃣ Alumni of HKBU who have graduated for no more than 10 calendar years from the date shown on the graduation diploma issued by HKBU (this refers to the Close of Application Date of HKBU TSSSU).

We will hold a briefing session in mid-September to walk you through the scheme and application process so you can seize this funding opportunity.

We were thrilled to meet everyone at the HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneur Summit from the 26th to the 29th! 📆

HKBU showcased a packed lineup of innovations—from professional generative AI 🤖 and wearable human motion analysis 🏃‍♂️📊 to converting kitchen waste into degradable materials ♻️, TCM-based skincare ingredients 🌿, functional nanofiber-coatings 🎨, brain-health products 🧠, rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing ⚡🧪, and digital space building 🏗️🖥️. It truly delivers on Professor Alex Wai, President of HKBU’s vision 🎯 of evolving from “knowledge producers” to “innovation connectors.” Prof. Wai also visited the booth in person, engaging with our start-up representatives to learn about the latest products developed by them.

Mr Leon Yuen, founder of WE Future Limited, joined two pitching sessions 🎤 to share his flagship projects, WE0.ai and Case x Case. Leveraging efficient AI core technologies, they help SMEs build digital showcase platforms 🛠️; while the browser runs, the AI analyzes market data in real time 📈. #亞太知識產權文創高峰會2026喺8月15號順利圓滿結束🗓️✅。今次由浸大知識轉移處同騰龍青年商會聯合主辦🤝，聯同其他合作夥伴，一齊連結學術界、文創產業專家、創業者、創作人同投資者，圍繞「以知識產權創新賦能香港創意經濟」🔑嘅主題，深入探討點樣將創意變成商業成果🚀。今次高峰會更有幸邀請到香港特別行政區政府知識產權署署長黃福來先生蒞臨致開幕辭🎙️，為高峰會揭開序幕。

[Asia Pacific Intellectual Property Creative Summit 2026] 🌏💡

2026 wrapped up successfully on August 15🗓️. Co-organised by HKBU Knowledge Transfer Office and JCI Dragon 🤝 with the support of other partners, the summit connected academia, creative industry experts, entrepreneurs, creators, and investors under the theme “Empowering Hong Kong’s Creative Economy through IP Innovation”, exploring how creativity can turn into real-word business outcomes📈. We were deeply honored to have Mr. David Wong Fuk-loi, Director of Intellectual Property of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, deliver the opening remarks and kick off the summit🎙️.

The day featured in-depth panel discussions🗣️, covering IP setup and operations⚙️, IP protection🛡️and commercialisation💰, and live showcases of original IP creative productscovering IP setup and. Zoie So, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Interactive Media at HKBU’s School of Communication, also joined a panel discussions🎙️to share her valuable insights into IP brand building and operations.

They turn worldwide iconic bread to quirky characters, telling a story about the bread that refuses to be trapped in a box and they are off to find their own path.

Their IP idea is simple and tasty: one place, one bread. Picture Hong Kong’s pineapple bun with butter, Russia’s rye loaf, France’s croissant—reimagined as characters that wanted to bust out. Grab your passport and chase the bread trio as they “escape” to cities worldwide, collecting check-ins and memories as you go!
