Your IAIM instructor will guide you through the different reflexes that may be elicited through touch and massage during your course. Unlike cues, reflexes are an automatic and involuntary response directed by the nervous system.
Helping you understand which reflexes are triggered by massage strokes ensures that you won't confuse your baby's reflex response with their voluntary responses, to be sure that you are both enjoying massage together.
Reflexes vary between babies and stop manifesting themselves at certain ages.

On IAIM courses, we want massage to be as successful as possible for you and your baby. During the course your Certified Infant Massage Instructor will demonstrate a range of positions to try together which may depend on your baby's age, mood or developmental stage, and ensures both of your comfort.
Good positioning can help with:
💜 Bonding & attachment, ensuring good eye contact and connection
💜 Helping your baby to feel close, safe and secure
💜 Supporting reflexes, avoiding them being triggered unnecessarily
💜 Keeping your focus on eachother
💜 Ensuring long, flowing massage strokes

做家長，最擔心嘅莫過於仔囡病左。見到仔囡病得辛苦又心痛，自己又要幾攰都照顧患者。喺呢個流感高峰期，大家可以考慮使用精油擴香，幫家居殺菌清潔，減低小朋友患病嘅機會💖

What oils do you need for infant massage ? Vegetable oils, preferably unscented, are best as they will likely make it into baby’s mouth and are absorbed into the skin. The parent’s unique body odors are an important element in the bonding process . Baby oil or mineral oil is petroleum based and is not recommended.
按摩寶寶，用什麼油比較適合？按摩寶寶時，使用高品質植物油，能令皮膚比較容易吸收。如油留在寶寶指頭上，不慎吸吮，亦不會做成太大的風險。使用無香味的，更可增加寶寶對媽媽體味認識，有助增進親子關係。
