🤖 Are New Students Really AI-Ready?

Knowing how to use AI is one thing. Knowing when to question it is another.

A university-wide AI literacy assessment of 1,540 incoming students revealed an interesting “literacy funnel”: students showed relatively strong understanding of basic GenAI concepts, but proficiency dropped when it came to technical application, prompting, bias, explainability, and ethical evaluation.

So, are our students truly ready for an AI-powered learning environment? And what does AI literacy actually mean beyond simply knowing how to use AI?

Join us for the workshop on “Bridging the Learning Gap: The Pedagogy and Practice of Peer-Assisted Learning” on 18 August 2026!

This workshop unpacks the cognitive science behind PALSI (Peer-Assisted Learning scheme using Supplemental Instruction), a structured scheme in which trained senior students facilitate collaborative study sessions for peers currently taking a course. We begin with the pedagogical science that underpins it, before taking participants inside an actual PALSI session to see how it differs from a traditional class. You will be able to see why peer-assisted learning works, and how it helps to enhance students' learning in your course.

📍From Hong Kong to Dongguan. Bringing Team-Based Learning across campuses 🌟

On 14 May 2026, the TED Digital Learning Team visited CityUHK Dongguan for a TBL Meetup with local faculty. The energy in the room? Incredible 🤩✨

We shared real experiences from Hong Kong. We talked about real feedback from both teachers and students 🤓📝

The result? 🤔 Dongguan faculty saw real value in TBL's structured pre-class preparation and active in-class learning 🙂↕️😎 Many are eager to try it in their own classrooms and create their own TBL materials 🧐👏

One thing is clear: the appetite for more training and workshops is strong 🤗👍
