🌍 Prof. Liang Shunlin (Head & Chair Professor, Department of Geography at the HKU Social Sciences): Advancing multimodal AI and geospatial mapping to generate real-time socioeconomic data, driving sustainable urban development in the Greater Bay Area.
🫀 Prof. Nicholas Xuanlai Fang (Professor and Chair of Photonics Innovation, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, HKU): Revolutionising MedTech with next-generation bioprinted phantoms (using novel "metagels") for safer, more precise cardiovascular and cerebrovascular surgeries.
🌌 Prof. Lixin Dai (Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, The University of Hong Kong): Forging a unified framework for super-Eddington accretion physics to decode the mysteries of black holes and the early universe.

This prestigious recognition highlights both HKU’s growing strength and commitment to nurturing top talent in artificial intelligence, but also the honourees’ hard work and commitment to groundbreaking research.

Meet our AI trailblazers:

🔹 Tianxing Chen (top left, supervised by Professor Ping Luo): Founder of the Lumina Embodied AI Community, recognised for his work on scalable robotic systems like RoboTwin and RoboDojo.

🔹 Mengkang Hu (bottom left, supervised by Professor Ping Luo): Honoured for his research on autonomous AI agents, exploring self-training and continuous improvement through projects like Tree-Planner and AgentGen.

🔹 Xubin Ren (top right, supervised by Professor Chao Huang): Creator of the lightweight open-source personal AI agent 'nanobot', focusing on LLMs and next-gen agent infrastructure.

🔹 Tianbao Xie (bottom right supervised by Professor Tao Yu): Creator of OpenAgents and OSWorld, a benchmark evaluating AI agents in desktop environments, which has already been adopted by OpenAI and Anthropic.

認識我們的 AI 先鋒：
🔹 陳天行（左上，導師：羅平教授）：Lumina 具身智能社區創始人，致力於具身智能基礎設施研究，其 RoboTwin 和 RoboDojo 項目推動了可擴展機器人系統的構建。
🔹 胡夢康（左下，導師：羅平教授）：專注於自主 AI 智能體研究，透過 Tree-Planner 及 AgentGen 等項目探索智能體的自我訓練與持續改進。
🔹 任旭濱（右上，導師：黃超教授）：輕量級開源個人 AI 智能體項目 nanobot 的創建者，專注於大型語言模型與下一代智能體基礎設施。
