📢 Exciting News for the Master of Transport Policy and Planning (MTP&P)! 🎓

We are thrilled to announce that the Master of Transport Policy and Planning (MTP&P) programme at the Department of Geography is now fully accredited by the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) for the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification.

🏛️ About CIHT: Founded in 1930 as the Institute of Highways Engineers and incorporated by Royal Charter in 2010, CIHT is a charity, learned society & membership body with 12 UK Regions and a number of international groups. CIHT is the leading voice of the highways, transportation, infrastructure and services profession. It represents and qualifies professionals who plan, design, build, manage, maintain and operate transport and infrastructure.

🛣️ What this means for MTP&P students: The Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification has been designed to provide professional recognition for transport planners in the same way that Chartered Engineer recognises the highest level of engineering competence.

This prestigious approval means that students enrolling from the 2025-2026 academic year through 2030 are now eligible to join student membership of both the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and the Transport Planning Society. Besides opening the Standard Route to the TPP qualification, it also provides our students with advantages for expanding the professional network and accessing world-class industry resources. 🏙️
