Grace Lau's Historic Victory at the World Games

Congratulations to our esteemed alumnus, Grace Lau, on her extraordinary achievement at the recent 12th World Games. In a thrilling showdown against Japan's Mayu Ono, Grace delivered an almost flawless performance, securing the gold medal with a remarkable score of 45.3 points.

This victory marks a significant milestone for the Hong Kong team, as it is their first medal at this year’s World Games. Grace's triumph also represents her personal best at the World Games, fulfilling her long-held dream of winning a gold medal on this prestigious stage.

Grace's journey to gold began with an impressive display in the group stage, where she triumphed in all three of her matches. At the finals between the world’s top two karatekas, Ono took to the mat first, setting a high standard. However, Grace remained unfazed by Ono's performance, with 43.6 points. She showcased superior power, speed, rhythm, explosiveness, and stability.

Handling pressure well and having confidence in yourself proves to be a critical task for athletes, but it is certainly easier said than done. Grace’s success is a reminder of the unthinkable mental and physical strength behind every athlete. We hope her journey continues to motivate others to pursue their dreams relentlessly. Once again, congratulations, Grace!

Grace Lau Secures Third Consecutive Asian Karate Title

At the world’s summit, Grace Lau Mo-sheung, an alumnus of Lam Tai Fai College, has once again made headlines in the world of karate. On Sunday, May 25, during the Asian Karate Championships held in Uzbekistan, Grace faced off against Japan's Ono Maho, her biggest rival, in the women's individual kata finals. Being their fourth clash this season, she finally emerged victorious with a score of 42.7, just one point ahead of Ono. This hard-fought win secured her third consecutive title at the Asian Championships, contributing to Hong Kong's total medal haul of one gold and three bronze.

Grace's journey in this year's championships was impressive. Having previously won gold in the last two Asian Championships, she entered the competition with confidence after a strong start to the season. In January, she claimed a silver medal at the K1 Super League event in Paris, followed by two gold medals at the tournaments in Hangzhou, China, and Cairo, Egypt. Her performance has positioned her as one of the top competitors in the sport.

Grace's achievements are a testament to her dedication and skill in karate, making her a prominent figure in the sport and a source of inspiration for aspiring athletes in Hong Kong and beyond.

Ceci Lee Sze-wing Chases down Silver Medal at the National Games Track Cycling Test

In an exciting conclusion to the Hong Kong International Track Cup and the 15th National Games Track Cycling Test, Lam Tai Fai College alumnus Ceci Lee Sze-wing competed in the omnium event for the second time in three days. Facing off against former world champion Yumi Kajiwara from Japan, both athletes endured a challenging race, battling through injuries to secure points until the very last moment.

Although Lee ultimately finished behind her idol, she achieved a new personal best, earning a silver medal with a score of 144 points. This performance elevated her standing, and she also took home two bronze medals over the three-day event.

She reflected on the experience, stating, "This might be the boldest omnium competition I've ever had. I had collisions and challenges, but today, I focused solely on my performance rather than keeping an eye on my competitors. This experience serves as a template for my future competitions."

Cycling team head coach Herve Dagorne praised Lee’s performance, hailing it as the best match he has witnessed since his arrival in Hong Kong. He remarked, "This was her toughest, but it turned out to be perfect. Competing so closely with Yumi, regardless of the final outcome, shows that she has made significant progress in her career."

Congratulations to Ceci Lee for her outstanding achievements! Her growth has surely inspired many potential athletes to come.

LTFC Alumni Day 2025

The "Alumni Day" of Lam Tai Fai Secondary School was held on January 17, 2025. Alumni returned to their alma mater and reunited with the teachers. Under the breezy weather, they gathered around to share a heartwarming P**n Choi feast. It was a touching moment to see our Alumni who graduated in the first year grow into parents, as they attended with their children. Graduates from all years gathered together to reminisce and discuss life after LTFC with their teachers and classmates. Laughs and chitchat filled the air as they looked forward to returning to the familiar campus year after year, savoring the deep friendship accumulated over time.
