🍲🌶 Texas Hash – Hearty, Cheesy & One-Pan Comfort!
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
2 cups beef broth
1 can (14–15 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Optional garnish
Chopped parsley or green onions
Sour cream
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Beef
In a large skillet or deep pan over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until the beef is browned and vegetables are softened.
Drain any excess grease.
2️⃣ Add Garlic and Seasoning
Stir in garlic, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cook about 30 seconds until fragrant.
3️⃣ Add Rice and Liquids
Add:
Uncooked rice
Diced tomatoes (with juice)
Beef broth
Stir well to combine.
4️⃣ Simmer
Bring to a gentle simmer.
Cover and cook on low heat for 18–20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
5️⃣ Add Cheese
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Cover again for 2–3 minutes until melted.
6️⃣ Serve
Fluff the rice slightly and garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
