A heartfelt thank you to the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for hosting us🙌🏻. Our students took part in an inspiring academic programme, gaining exposure to pioneering research and fresh ideas. The campus tour offered a glimpse👀 into TUM’s dynamic learning environment before we continued our journey to Regensburg.

Industry⚙️ connections followed. With the support of our alumnus now working at Infineon Technologies, students joined a workshop that showcased innovation in semiconductor💠 design and production. Later, the visit to the BMW Group Plant gave them a rare opportunity to witness advanced automotive engineering in action – an impressive demonstration of precision💫 and scale.

Beyond academia and industry, students also enjoyed time exploring Germany’s cultural charm and lively atmosphere. These two days truly embodied the TechXPlore spirit – weaving together academic excellence, industrial insight, and cultural discovery to inspire future innovation🌟.

🎊Congratulations to Jason Chan Pak-lam, our DAAI student as well as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, on winning three awards with his project — the Apex Intelligent Management System (AIMS).

AIMS uses AI to modernise laboratory operations, integrating workflows💠, instrument monitoring, and inventory management into a seamless paperless platform. It boosts efficiency🆙and supports sustainability in line with Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 and the Hospital Authority’s “Green Office” and “Go Paperless” initiatives.

The project has won:
🏆 Industry Excellence Star Award
🏆 Outstanding Award in Creativity – Hospital Authority (sole recipient across the organisation)
🏆 Outstanding Award in Creativity – Hong Kong Island Cluster (West)

Lunch🍽️ by Lake Zurich provided a scenic pause, followed by free time in the city centre to explore, dine, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

The journey then continued ➡️ to Munich, where students explored the city at their own pace. From historic landmarks to cultural experiences, these days have been a rewarding mix of professional engagement, cultural exploration, and personal discovery – a true reflection of the TechXPlore spirit 🌟.

Over the past two days, our journey has been filled with cultural immersion and professional inspiration✨.

At the International Telecommunication Union headquarters, we were warmly welcomed by staff who delivered an insightful presentation. This sparked meaningful discussions💠 on global connectivity and the future of digital innovation💫.

We also joined a private tour of the United Nations, where students gained first-hand insights into international diplomacy and global🌎 cooperation. The experience was both eye-opening and inspiring, reinforcing the importance of technology in addressing worldwide challenges.

Alongside these professional engagements, students enjoyed free time in Geneva’s city centre – exploring its vibrant streets, soaking in the atmosphere, and sharing meals🥗 together amidst the historic surroundings.

After an overnight flight✈️, we touched down in Geneva, where the first full day of exploration unfolded.

🙏 A special thanks to EPFL for the incredible welcome! We kicked things off with lunch near the iconic Rolex Learning Centre before embarking on a campus tour of one of Europe’s top innovation hubs💠.

The afternoon was filled with inspiration: a fascinating lab tour at EPFL, followed by a visit to the Musée Bolo, where the rich history of computing 💻 came vividly to life.

Building on his doctoral foundation in multimodal content security, Dr. Luo’s current research focuses on Safety-Aware Vision-Language-Action Models. His research enables AI systems to detect and resolve risks across multiple modalities💠, ensuring that robots and autonomous systems remain safe and trustworthy🔰 in complex environments like healthcare and autonomous driving.
