HKU MA in Applied Linguistics

The Centre for Applied English Studies invites applications for admission to the M.A. in Applied Linguistics programme which has been offered since September 1996. Applicants should have a good first degree (or equivalent) from this university or a comparable institution.

The programme is designed for those who have professional experience in English language education although we welcome applications from non-teaching linguists or those with related professional experience in the analysis of language. By following a mixture of core and elective courses, participants will gain a critical understanding of theory in the field of applied linguistics, and be able to conduct research into its practical applications.
