教育學院院長張志強教授近日參與了於 2026 年 9 月 2 日至 4 日在愛丁堡大學舉行的院長論壇（Deans’ Forum），主題為「複雜世界中的教師教育與教育未來」（Teacher Education and Education Futures in a Complex World）。

此次論壇匯聚來自六大洲、13 個國家的教育學院院長、教師教育領袖及政策制定者，包括來自智利、澳洲、美國、英國、葡萄牙及奧地利的同儕。論壇為與會者提供了一個真正國際化的平台，就教師教育的未來進行具意義的對話、知識交流與合作。

活動的一大亮點是由本院院長發表的主題演講。張志強教授分享了在科技、社會及經濟快速轉型背景下，教師教育所面對的挑戰與機遇。與會討論強調，必須重新思考如何培育未來教育工作者，使他們能夠在日益複雜及數碼化的世界中應對挑戰，並發揮領導作用。

論壇主題可謂切合時宜。全球各地的教師教育正面臨回應各種新興需求的挑戰，包括人工智能、數碼轉型、可持續發展、不斷變化的學習者需求，以及社會對教育公平與社會影響日益提高的期望。要有效應對這些挑戰，必須持續推動創新、促進跨界別對話，並加強國際合作。

我們期待在此次論壇建立的交流與聯繫基礎上，進一步深化合作，共同推動教師教育的未來發展。

Prof. Alan Cheung, Dean of Education, recently participated in the Deans’ Forum on "Teacher Education and Education Futures in a Complex World," hosted at the University of Edinburgh from 2 to 4 September 2026.

The Forum brought together Deans of Education, teacher education leaders, and policymakers from 13 countries across six continents, including colleagues from Chile, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Austria. It provided a truly international platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on the future of teacher education.

A key highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by our Dean, who shared insights into the challenges and opportunities facing teacher education amid rapid technological, social, and economic transformation. The discussions underscored the importance of reimagining how we prepare future educators to navigate, and lead in, an increasingly complex and digital world.

The Forum’s theme could not have been more timely. Across the globe, teacher education is being called upon to respond to emerging demands, AI, digital transformation, sustainability, evolving learner needs, and growing expectations for educational equity and social impact. Addressing these challenges will require continued innovation, cross-sector dialogue, and strong international collaboration.

We look forward to building on the conversations and connections established at the Forum as we continue working together to shape the future of teacher education.

It was a pleasure to welcome Prof. Jessica Gallagher (Deputy Vice Chancellor, International and External Engagement) and Prof. Mathew White (Dean, International and Engagement, College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences) from Adelaide University, for a productive discussion on future collaboration between the two institutions. This meeting followed the recent university-wide Memorandum of Understanding signing between Adelaide University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, marking an important step in consolidating and expanding collaboration across both universities.

Representing the CUHK Faculty of Education were Prof. Ching Sing Chai (Associate Dean, Strategic Engagement), Prof. Yin Hongbiao (Associate Dean, Postgraduate Studies), and Prof. Ronnel King (Assistant Dean, Interdisciplinary Innovation and Global Partnerships). Together, the leadership representatives explored opportunities in joint research, PhD co-supervision, postgraduate study tours, academic exchange, etc., with shared interests in AI in Education, well-being, and educational leadership.

We look forward to developing impactful partnerships that advance educational research, foster innovation, and strengthen global engagement in higher education.

期待未來攜手推動教育研究創新，深化國際交流與合作。

學生能力國際評估計劃（PISA） 2025結果公布。本學院教育心理學系研究教授及榮休教授侯傑泰教授曾擔任該評估計劃技術委員會委員長達十年。他接受香港政府新聞網訪問時指出，本屆參與評估的學生在關鍵發展期的學習階段受到新冠疫情影響，是導致不同國家及經濟體系整體成績普遍下跌的其中一個因素。然而，香港仍然在提供平等教育方面表現出色。本港教育制度能為不同背景的學生提供優質和平等的教育機會，持續在高學術成就的國家或經濟體系中位列三甲。

侯教授的觀察有助理解香港學生在國際評估中的表現，以及教育體系在提供平等教育機會方面的角色。本學院教育心理學系將繼續以研究和專業知識，支援學生學習、成長與福祉。

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025 results have been released. Prof. Hau Kit-tai, Research Professor and Emeritus Professor in our Faculty’s Department of Educational Psychology, joined the PISA Technical Advisory Group for ten years. He shared his expert insights in a Hong Kong Government News feature. Prof. Hau noted that students participating in this cycle were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic during a critical stage of learning and development, which was one of the factors contributing to the general decline in results across different countries and economies. Nevertheless, Hong Kong continues to demonstrate strong performance in providing equitable educational opportunities. Hong Kong's education system provides high-quality and equitable learning opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds, enabling the city to maintain its position as one of the world’s leaders in educational equity, having consistently ranked in the top three on this metric.

Prof. Hau’s observations help inform our understanding of Hong Kong students’ performance in international assessments and the role of the education system in providing equitable learning opportunities. Our Department of Educational Psychology will continue to support student learning, development and well-being through research and professional expertise.

🏆恭賀本學院健康與體育運動科學教育學士學生程嬿珊於泰國素攀武里府舉行的2026年場地單車亞洲盃中和隊友楊礎搖及吳思穎攜手勇奪女子團體競速賽亞軍，為學院及香港爭光。三人在初賽中發揮出色，以 1分11秒170 的成績完成賽事，下午賽事因暴雨而取消，但憑藉初賽的優異表現最終奪得銀牌。

這項佳績充分展現了學術發展與高水平運動發展相輔相成的成果，亦體現了體育運動科學系一直倡導嚴於律己、堅毅不屈以及永不言敗精神。程嬿珊同學的傑出表現不僅為大學社群增添光彩，更鼓舞同學在學業與運動的道路上不斷勇往直前、追求卓越。

🏆We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Physical Education, Exercise Science and Health student, Ching Yin-shan. Yin-shan and her teammates Yeung Cho-yiu and Ng Sze-wing captured a Silver Medal in the Women's Team Sprint at the Track Asia Cup 2026 held in Suphan Buri, Thailand. The team delivered an impressive performance in the qualifying round, clocking 1:11.170. Although the afternoon races were cancelled due to heavy rain, the team was awarded the silver medal based on its qualifying result.

This accomplishment highlights the successful integration of academic excellence and high-performance sport, reflecting the values of discipline, perseverance, and continuous improvement championed by the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education. Her remarkable achievement not only brings great pride to the university community but also inspires fellow students to pursue excellence in both their athletic and academic journeys.

On 28 August 2026, faculty colleagues gathered at The Mira Hong Kong for Faculty Retreat, a productive and engaging day of dialogue, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning.

We gained valuable insights from the University Planning Office, Knowledge Transfer Office and the Library regarding their respective strategic priorities. The retreat also featured presentations and discussions on key strategic priorities, including academic excellence, teaching and learning, internationalization, and social impact. 由教育學院體育部管理的中大划艇隊於2026年8月22日至23日舉行的第40屆全港大學賽艇錦標賽中再創佳績，勇奪男子組、女子組冠軍，以及男子及女子總冠軍殊榮。這是中大划艇隊歷史上第25次同時榮膺男子及女子總冠軍，在全數10個比賽項目中，隊伍共奪得16面獎牌，包括10面金牌、3面銀牌及3面銅牌，成績傲視群雄，充分展現中大運動員的實力與團隊精神。

優異成績的背後，凝聚著隊員全年持之以恆的刻苦訓練，以及追求卓越、永不言棄的體育精神。衷心感謝一直支持中大體育發展的師生、校友及中大運動醫學團隊。

We are proud to share the outstanding achievements of our CUHK Rowing Team, managed by the Physical Education Unit of the Faculty of Education, at the 40th Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships held on 22-23 August 2026. The team secured both the Men's Championship and Women's Championship titles, as well as the prestigious Men's and Women's Overall Championship titles. This marks the 25th time in CUHK's history that the team has captured both overall championships simultaneously, a testament to its long-standing tradition of excellence. Competing across all 10 events, the team delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 16 medals, including 10 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals, placing CUHK firmly at the top of the competition.

These exceptional achievements reflect not only the athletes' talent and dedication, but also their unwavering commitment, rigorous year-round training, and relentless pursuit of excellence. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many staff, students, alumni and friends who have continuously supported the development of sport at CUHK and shared this proud moment with us.
