Diageo will launch its first-ever Diageo Whisky Academy (DWA) in Hong Kong next week. The 3-tier certification program was designed by a team of whisky experts, including whisky authorities Charles Maclean, Dave Broom, Dr. Nick Morgan, and Steven Lin. Level 1 guides you through the perception of various categories of whisky, while Level 2 goes in-depth with whisky production, 9 different flavors of whisky tasting exercises, and food pairing whisky skills. The unparalleled Level 3 takes you to a 7-day trip to Scotland, where you will connect with the soul of the whisky industry and capture a once-in-a-lifetime experience at distilleries in 5 main regions.

Earlier this week, we’re thrilled to have a glimpse of their Level 1: The Whisky Crawls at Madame Fù. Comparing side by side the sweet spice of Mortlach 12, the floral and citrus notes of Glenkinchie 12, and the toasty Talisker 10 was indeed interesting. Thanks Whisky Magazine for the invitation.
