「 如何成為樹醫生？」工作坊

樹藝師又稱「樹醫生」，他們能撰寫樹木評估報告，供政府部門和私人管理公司參考。工作坊旨在讓參加者體驗樹藝師的日常工作，例如使用樹木風險評估和樹木管理的各種機器，以及使用標本學習分辨植物病蟲害。

教育局今個學年亦推行首輪應用學位課程先導計畫，涵蓋護理學、檢測和認證、園藝樹藝及園景管理、應用老年學4個應用學位課程。對於園藝樹藝及園景管理，香港高等教育科技學院（THEi高科院）環境學系副教授張浩坦言，社會的刻板印象窒礙新血入行，「公眾對樹藝師的認識仍停留在『花王』階段，以為只是剪草施肥」。

一連兩日舉行升學展覽

為提升樹藝師的專業形象，張浩表示，學系今年復辦海外交流團，首站將前往澳洲墨爾本，讓學生了解海外的樹木保育及綠化政策，擴闊國際視野；又會到中學舉辦課程簡介會，加深學生對行業的了解。

應用學位次輪先導計畫課程7月公布 （星島日報報道）今屆中學文憑試已經結束，畢業生正積極籌劃升學路徑。專上院校各出奇謀招生，有院校新學年增設健康科學基礎文憑，為文憑試成績

The speaker, Mr. Brian L. Y. Cheng is the Managing Director of GreenWalls Bioengineering with the expertise in Green Walls, Green Roofs and Green Slopes.

由研究資助局資助、THEi園藝及園境管理 (榮譽)文學士課程就城市綠化基建的議題，舉辦一系列的研討會。城市綠化基建系列研討會第四場次「構建和諧之境—可持續而有效的斜坡鞏固生物技術」已於12月16日假香港中央圖書館演講廳舉行。

是次講座獲發展局—綠化、園境及樹木管理組、香港園藝專業學會支持，旨在探討如何通過可持續而有效的生物技術以鞏固斜坡。出席的講者包括: 漁農自然護理署 梁芷茵博士、 香港大學生物科學學院 侯智恒博士、土木工程拓展署 陳雪瑩工程師，以及美國伊利諾伊州博林布魯克林業部負責人 米勒先生。他們分享於香港和美國等地如何通過使用可持續而有效的生物技術來鞏固斜坡。講座吸引了超過110名來自不同界別的人士參與，當中包括樹藝師、園境師、園藝從業員、研究人員、大專及中學教師和學生等。

是次研討會有效地讓公眾了解以可持續而有效的生物技術對於斜坡鞏固的重要作用。本次研討會是城市綠化基建系列研討會的最後一場，亦在此鳴謝大學教育資助委員會全數撥款資助。

Financed by Research Grants Council (RGC), THEi Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Horticulture and Landscape Management programme offers a series of seminars related to Urban Green Infrastructure. The forth seminar “Sustainable and Effective Biotechnical Techniques on Slope Upgrading” was conducted on 16th December, 2017 at Hong Kong Central Library Lecture Theatre.

The seminar series is in collaboration with Greening, Landscape and Tree Management Section of Development Bureau and Hong Kong Institute of Horticultural Science. Speakers of the seminar include: Dr. Flora LEUNG Tsz Yan, from Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of HKSAR Government, Dr. Billy HAU Chi Hang, Programme Director of MSc in Environmental Management, School of Biological Sciences of HKU, Ir. Lily CHAN Suet-ying, Geotechnical Engineer of Civil Engineering and Development Department of HKSAR Government, and Mr. Stephen Philip MILLER, Supervisor of the Forestry Department of Village of Bolingbrook in USA. They shared their experience about how to upgrade slopes through sustainable and effective biotechnical techniques in Hong Kong and USA. This seminar drew over 110 participants from various sectors, including arborist, landscape architects, practitioners in slope engineering industry, lecturers in tertiary institutions, researchers, university and secondary teachers and students.

The aforementioned seminar enhanced the public awareness of the importance of using sustainable and effective biotechnical techniques on slope upgrading. The is the last one in this series of seminars and we would like to acknowledge RGC for supporting this seminar series fully.
