Spanish School of Hong Kong

Today, our Lower Secondary students visited the Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant. It was a highly educational and interesting field trip as part of their Global Perspectives studies. In school, students learn about sustainable development, and today they had the opportunity to see firsthand the Hong Kong Government's commitment to providing sustainable water resources for the people.

We are very fortunate that we never have to worry about water not coming out of the tap. However, back in the 1960s, people in Hong Kong had to queue up daily just to collect a bucket of water. I hope this visit has taught our students never to take water – or anything – for granted.

Only 2.5% of the water on Earth is fresh water. It is truly a precious resource, and we should all join hands to conserve water, so that future generations can continue to enjoy living on this beautiful planet.

TKO Desalination Plant 💦

Today our secondary school students enjoyed a visit to the TKO Desalination Plant, where they took part in an array of engaging activities and learned about the important role desalination plants play in providing sustainable water resources.

The students had a fantastic experience exploring the site and discovering the innovative technology behind water desalination.

Congratulations to our students who participated in the Hong Kong Battle of the Books Competition at FIS today! We’ve made great progress in a year & look forward to participating again next year!

Our students had great fun dressing up as their teachers and staff members, bringing plenty of laughter to the day. They also thoughtfully prepared gifts and delicious breakfast treats to share with everyone.

At SSHK, we truly believe our teachers are fuelled by the energy and enthusiasm of our students, which makes each school day so special!

World Book Day 2026 📖

Today we celebrated World Book Day, inspiring a love of reading across our school! 📚✨

It was a fantastic day filled with engaging activities in English lessons, bringing stories to life and encouraging students to explore new worlds through books. We were also delighted by the creativity on display with some truly amazing fancy dress costumes!

A wonderful celebration of imagination, storytelling, and the joy of reading. 🌟

PTA-Led BBQ & Family Hike 🗺️

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA team for organising such a fantastic family hike and BBQ on Sunday! It was wonderful to see so many families come together, enjoy the outdoors, and share such a special day. We truly appreciate all the effort that went into making it such a memorable event!

We were honored to participate in the Mental Health Video Competition organized by the Hong Kong Mental Health Association.

At the prize presentation, our student-directed and produced video, “You Are Not Alone,” received both the Merit Award and the Most Popular Award.
