My name is Junaid Mahesar. I was born in Pakistan and studied and worked in London for 15 years. I am now living in the United Arab Emirates with a wife and two lovely children. I am an accountant by trade, working for an exciting Ed-Tech company that has transformed the education landscape in the UAE. My role is to lead energetic finance and procurement teams.

I believe in taking risks to follow dreams, having faith that things will work out eventually and never giving up because we lose when we do. I was at the stage of my career where I was happy with my achievements and learnings. However, I needed to reboot and recharge to realign my goals and to make a difference so I decided to join the EMBA-Global Asia programme. I was also driven by a desire to be a better person and to contribute to society more. The EMBA programme provides a perfect platform to connect with talented individuals that will help me to achieve my goals.

I did consider the impact of the travel restrictions but I strongly believe every problem creates a new opportunity and gives us the option to either leave it or work hard to make it work. I believe in making it work. I see the EMBA-GA programme having a long-term impact by introducing us to good friends as well as offering us the opportunity to continue lifelong learning.

The programme also provides an opportunity to connect with inspiring people that will continue to add value to our careers. Furthermore, it provides diversified elective options from three top business schools and the opportunity to learn unique practical skillsets necessary to achieve excellence and transform careers.

My name is Arnaud Rousset. I am French and currently based in Singapore. I have worked for the past 11 years in the shipping and logistics industries. I am currently in charge of developing synergies between the shipping and supply chain divisions of CMA CGM Group.

I chose the EMBA-Global Asia programme because of its unique structure: the prestige and expertise from 3 leading Business Schools, the tailored close-knit community class experience, and the diversified portfolio of elective courses. The travel restrictions did not influence my readiness to start this transformational journey.

My name is Yulia Myronova. For the last 5 years, I have been working for the Wealth Management industry in Zurich with a focus on Capital Markets and Digital Assets.

The EMBA programme overlaps with my professional interests and the EMBA-Global Asia is the top programme, offering insights into different cultures and business practices from the Americas to China. From the beginning of the pandemic, I shifted my focus from potential risks which have not materialised to focusing on the present moment, mindfulness and education. 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

My name is Elijah Bach and I live in New York City with my wife and 3 young children. I’m a former CEO for a real estate investment holdings firm, a company I founded and ran for nearly 20 years. Since retirement, I established a non-profit, charitable foundation to help all parents worldwide to become better educated and more supportive when striving for their children’s happiness and success.

The EMBA-Global Asia programme was a retirement present to myself – an opportunity to learn new things, travel to different parts of the world and meet people from diverse geographical and professional backgrounds. These are all things I value a lot more than anything else. I was presented with two options when choosing which programme: EMBA Asia or America & Europe. It was a no brainer to do the same programme across three continents rather than two so I chose EMBA Asia.

The global pandemic certainly affected my decision making on whether to join the EMBA programme but I believe that life goes on regardless of your circumstances, and it’s all about what you make of the situation. I know the three schools are doing everything they can to make the best possible experience for all students.

I plan to learn as much as possible from professors, textbooks and my classmates. Last but not least, I hope to make life-long friendships.

My name is Annie Chen and I live in Beijing. I have a proven track record of 12 years in marketing tech and I have rich B2B brand marketing experience at both the strategical and executional levels. In a previous life, I worked for a global marketing services platform with companies such as LinkedIn, Ogilvy and Oracle where I delivered business value, sales and brand marketing programmes for multinational tech clients.

I believe that real leadership is about decision making, a sense of responsibility and having an executive force. I would like to learn from both the academics and my brilliant classmates about real leadership, hence why I decided to pursue an EMBA degree.

I have found that my strengths in marketing are that I am always thinking about how we can work with leading businesses to better their understanding of marketing, and how we can help entrepreneurs to develop their cross-border businesses more successfully. I believe that the EMBA-Global Asia programme will bring me much inspiration. I had been thinking of doing an EMBA for a while but the global pandemic accelerated my application.

What I’d like to achieve from this programme is to grow my business knowledge and my managerial experience to help prepare for a higher level of professional executive life.

My name is Tomer Shalom, and I took the EMBA opportunity to move to New York to expand my career and business. I decided to pursue the EMBA-Global Asia programme to develop a global perception and to get a quality education.

I am looking for content and connections while exploring and being a part of three unbelievable institutions located in three of the most global cities in the world; London, New York, and Hong Kong.

I am hoping to develop the education, connections, and tools to upgrade myself as a person, as a professional, and as an entrepreneur.

My name is Yusuke Koshijima. I am a designer and since I started a designer service I found that I had no choice but to learn more about management.

I chose the EMBA-Global Asia programme because I wanted to become an executive leader in the diverse environment offered by three leading business schools; LBS, CBS, and HKU. I had planned to start in 2020 but the start was delayed by one year due to the global pandemic. I seriously considered a further postponement but I thought that virtual environments will become the global standard for conducting projects and I wanted to be the first year to learn how to collaborate in this new standard.

What I would like to get out of this global EMBA programme is to gain more knowledge, skills, and insights from my cohort, and to be a good leader.
