A short introduction about Human Library
Human Library is an event where readers “borrow” volunteer “books” to have guided conversations. Readers gain career perspective and practical, real-world skills—learning what a job truly involves, common challenges, and how to develop relevant strengths. It also helps readers ask meaningful questions, build confidence, and see clear pathways for career growth.
Briefing for sharers:
Before the event
• Know your role/story: Brainstorm some key points about your career path, turning points, and challenges.
• Pick useful skills: Choose 3–5 skills students should master (e.g., communication, problem-solving, certifications, tools).
• Prepare example scenarios: “A day in my work,” “a challenge I handled,” “a mistake I learned from.”
• Set boundaries: Decide what you’re comfortable sharing (topics to avoid, how personal to be).
• Confirm logistics (will be provided on that day): Time slot, location, how rotations work etc
Materials to bring (optional)
• Props needed: essential equipment needed in your career?
• PowerPoint and iPad: Your intro + your 3–5 skill points + example stories
• Any career links: short list of tools, certifications, websites, or resources
