【2026年8月12日考察團行程紀要：深化中歐文化交流 感受中國戲曲深厚底蘊】
「北京藝術考察貴賓團」8月12日迎來最後一天行程。考察團由香港藝術學院督導委員會主席暨考察團團長蔡關頴琴女士及香港藝術學院院長暨副團長麥陳淑賢教授，上午到訪匈牙利駐華大使館，與副大使柯來憶先生（Péter Király）及文化教育參贊郝璐璐女士（Anna Lujza Honecz）會面。

會面期間，雙方重點商討蔡冠深慈善基金會及白雲館如何進一步促進中國與歐洲國家之間的文化交流，並探討香港藝術學院如何加強香港與匈牙利在藝術推廣及藝術教育方面的合作。郝璐璐女士表示，將於今年10月訪港，屆時雙方將繼續商討並促成具體合作，為未來交流奠定良好基礎。

隨後，考察團轉赴北京市海外文化交流中心——長安大戲院，與中國戲曲學院國際合作處副處長李華裔博士會面，雙方就文化及藝術合作交流意見。

會面結束後，考察團在長安大劇院參觀了以中國戲劇梅花獎得主為主題的「丹青戲魂·百梅芳華——『百梅百戲』藝術推廣普及與展演」系列活動主題油畫展，細賞以戲曲名家為題的精彩畫作，感受中國戲曲藝術的深厚底蘊。

此行收穫豐富，考察團不僅加深了對北京藝術生態的認識，更與多個內地及國際藝術及教育機構建立了寶貴聯繫，為香港藝術學院未來深化交流合作奠定堅實基礎。

12 Aug 2026: Deepening China-Europe Cultural Exchange, Experiencing the Rich Legacy of Chinese Opera

The “Beijing Art Tour VIP Delegation” embarked on the final day of its programme on 12 August 2026. Led by Mrs Janice Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong Art School Council and head of the delegation, together with Professor Barley Mak, School Director of the Hong Kong Art School and vice head of the delegation, the group visited the Embassy of Hungary in China in the morning to meet Mr Péter Király, Deputy Head of Mission, and Ms Anna Lujza Honecz, Cultural and Educational Counsellor.

During the meeting, both sides focused on how the Dr Choi Koon Shum Charitable Foundation and Choi Centre can further promote cultural exchange between China and European countries, and discussed ways for Hong Kong Art School to strengthen collaboration with Hungary in art promotion and art education. Ms Honecz shared that she will visit Hong Kong in October, when both sides will continue their discussions and work towards concrete initiatives, laying a solid foundation for future exchange.

The delegation then proceeded to the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center – Chang’an Grand Theatre, where they met Dr Li Huayi, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, to exchange views on cultural and artistic cooperation.

After the meeting, the group visited a themed oil painting exhibition at Chang’an Grand Theatre, part of the series “Soul of Opera on Canvas, Blossoming Hundred Plum Blossoms — ‘Hundred Plum Blossoms, Hundred Plays’ Art Promotion and Performance”, which focuses on laureates of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award. Delegation members took time to appreciate the vivid portraits of renowned opera artists and gained a deeper sense of the profound heritage of Chinese opera art.

Jointly organised by Hong Kong Art School (HKAS) and Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the “Beijing Art Study VIP Delegation” set off on 7 August on a six-day in-depth art exchange tour in Beijing. The delegation was led by Mrs Janice Choi, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Art School Council, with Mrs Christine Ip, member of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, and Professor Barley Mak, School Director of the Hong Kong Art School, serving as vice heads of delegation. Together they guided more than thirty Hong Kong art enthusiasts in visits to a number of leading art institutions in Beijing, engaging in lively and substantial dialogue with sector leaders and practitioners.

The delegation yielded rich outcomes: the delegation not only gained a more nuanced understanding of Beijing’s art ecosystem, but also forged valuable connections with a range of Mainland and international art and education institutions, laying a solid foundation for Hong Kong Art School to deepen future exchange and collaboration.

【2026年8月11日考察團行程紀要：到訪百年中央美術學院，京港藝術交流邁新步】

「北京藝術考察貴賓團」於8月11日上午到訪中央美術學院，獲校方高規格接待。中央美術學院副院長呂品晶教授、學校辦公室主任傅怡靜女士、教務處處長林笑初教授、設計學院陳慰平教授及研究生院幹部魏葳女士等親自接待。香港藝術學院督導委員會主席暨考察團團長蔡關頴琴女士、香港藝術學院院長暨副團長麥陳淑賢教授、香港特別行政區政府駐北京辦事處文化交流組總監連美嬌女士以及香港中華總商會文化委員會代表一同出席交流。
會面期間，雙方就學生交流、教師交流及課程交流等方向深入探討，並達成初步共識，預計可於2027年暑假展開合作。雙方期望透過多元互動，促進京港兩地藝術教育優勢互補，為年輕藝術人才搭建更廣闊的學習平台。
考察團隨後參觀了中央美術學院校史館及美術館，深入了解這所百年美術學府的輝煌歷史。中央美術學院前身為國立北京美術學校，1918年4月在著名教育家蔡元培積極倡導下創立，是中國歷史上第一所由國家開辦的美術學府，標誌着國家對美術教育重要地位的確立。歷年來，徐悲鴻、齊白石、張大千等中國著名藝術家先後在校任教，為中國現代美術教育奠定深厚根基。國家主席習近平在中央美術學院百年校慶時，曾發公開信，肯定學院辦學方向，發揚崇德尚藝的優良傳統，「以大愛之心育莘莘學子，以大美之藝繪傳世之作」。
團員們在校史館與美術館中細心觀賞珍貴文獻及館藏，感受百年美院薪火相傳的藝術精神後，均表示深受啟發。是次到訪亦為香港藝術學院與中央美術學院日後的長遠合作邁出重要一步。

August 11: Visit to the Century-Old Central Academy of Fine Arts Marks a New Step in Beijing-Hong Kong Art Exchange
The "Beijing Art Tour VIP Delegation" visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) on the morning of August 11, where they were welcomed with a high-level reception by the Academy. The delegation was personally received by Professor Lu Pinjing, CAFA Vice President; Ms. Fu Yijing, Director of the Academy Office; Professor Lin Xiaochu, Director of Academic Affairs; Professor Chen Weiping, School of Design, and Ms. Wei Wei, Graduate School Official. Joining the exchange were Mrs. Janice Choi, Chairperson of the School Council of Hong Kong Art School (HKAS) and head of delegation; Professor Barley Mak, School Director of HKAS and vice head of delegation; Ms. Ivy Lin, Head of the Cultural Exchange Division of the Office of the Government of the HKSAR in Beijing; and the representatives of Culture Committee of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding student, faculty, and curriculum exchanges, reaching a preliminary consensus. It is anticipated that the collaborations will officially commence in the summer of 2027. Through diverse interactions, both sides hope to leverage the complementary strengths of art education in Beijing and Hong Kong, thereby building a broader learning platform for young artistic talents.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the CAFA History Museum and Art Museum to gain a deeper understanding of the glorious history of this century-old fine arts institution. Formerly known as the National Beijing Art School, CAFA was founded in April 1918 under the active advocacy of the renowned educator Cai Yuanpei. As the first state-run fine arts institution in Chinese history, its establishment marked the nation's recognition of the vital importance of art education. Over the years, prominent Chinese artists such as Xu Beihong, Qi Baishi, and Zhang Daqian have successively taught at the CAFA, laying a profound foundation for modern Chinese art education. During CAFA's centenary celebration, President Xi Jinping issued a public letter affirming the Academy's educational direction and its fine tradition of upholding both high moral standards and artistic excellence.
Delegation members carefully viewed the precious documents and collections in the History Museum and Art Museum, experiencing the enduring artistic spirit passed down through the century-old academy. All expressed being deeply inspired by the visit. This tour also marks a significant step forward for the future long-term collaboration between the Hong Kong Art School and the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

「北京藝術考察貴賓團」於8月11日迎來重中之中活動—由三位香港藝術家陳偉思（Diana Chan）、李梓良（Terence Lee）及黃文翰（Joe Wong）首度齊聚北京蔡冠深文化交流中心—白雲館，聯合呈獻的「緣聚彩雲間」展覽隆重開幕。香港特別行政區政府駐北京辦事處主任姚繼卓先生親臨現場，與一眾嘉賓共同見證盛事。

香港藝術學院督導委員會主席暨展覽主辦單位蔡冠深慈善基金會代表蔡關頴琴女士致歡迎辭時表示，基金會不僅在中國內地深耕細作，更將足跡延伸至越南、日本、法國、英國及加拿大等地，透過與當地知名學府及機構合作，搭建國際文化、教育及科技交流的橋樑。她指出，白雲館的設立正是為了促進這種深度交流與合作，期望透過在北京呈現三位香港藝術家的佳作，讓各地來賓感受香港獨有的藝術韻味。

開幕禮上，三位藝術家分享創作背後的理念與故事，並為來賓進行導賞，現場交流氣氛熱烈。三位香港藝術家展現多元創作面貌：陳偉思以微影攝影捕捉日常中的細膩詩意；李梓良的陶藝作品探索自然與人文的交融；黃文翰則以精巧紙雕演繹當代工藝美學。三人以各自獨特的創作語彙，共譜一場視覺與心靈的盛宴。

The “Beijing Art Tour VIP Delegation” on 11 August 2026 marked another major highlight: the grand opening of Ode to Colors, a joint exhibition by three Hong Kong artists—Diana Chan, Terence Lee and Joe Wong—at the Choi Centre – Choi House in Beijing, marking their first collective showcase at the venue. Mr Yiu Kai Cheuk Arsene, Director of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Beijing Office, joined other distinguished guests to witness the occasion.

In her welcome address, Mrs Janice Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong Art School Council and representative of the Dr Choi Koon Shum Charitable Foundation, the exhibition’s organising body, noted that the Foundation’s work extends beyond Mainland China to Vietnam, Japan, France, the United Kingdom and Canada, where it collaborates with leading universities and institutions to build bridges for international cultural, educational and technological exchange. She emphasised that the establishment of Choi House itself embodies this vision of deep exchange and collaboration, and expressed the hope that presenting the works of three Hong Kong artists in Beijing would enable guests from different places to experience the distinctive artistic flavour of Hong Kong.

At the opening, the three artists shared the ideas and stories behind their works and led guided tours for guests, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. Together they presented a rich spectrum of creative approaches: Dr Diana Chan uses macro photography to capture delicate poetry in everyday life; Terence Lee’s ceramic works explore the convergence of nature and humanity; and Joe Wong’s intricate paper sculptures reinterpret contemporary craft aesthetics. Through their unique visual languages, they composed a feast for both the eye and the mind.

The ceremony drew a distinguished gathering. In addition to Mr Yiu Kai Cheuk Arsene, Mr Yuen Ka Lok Enoch, Deputy Director, and Ms Lin Mei kiu, Head of the Cultural Exchange, from the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Beijing Office were present to show their support. Leading Mainland art institutions also attached great importance to the event, sending representatives from the National Museum of China, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Poly Art Museum, Guardian Art Center, China Museum of Overseas Chinese, Red Brick Art Museum, as well as the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.

Many foreign embassies and cultural organisations in China likewise sent delegates, including Mr Péter Király, Deputy Head of Mission, and Ms Anna Lujza Honecz, Cultural and Educational Counsellor, at the Embassy of Hungary, along with Mr José Aguilar, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Peru, underscoring the exhibition’s strong resonance within the international cultural community.

Following the opening, the organisers hosted a dinner for guests, allowing art professionals from Beijing and Hong Kong to continue their conversations in a relaxed setting, with the atmosphere remaining lively and convivial.

Located in Beijing, the Choi Centre – Choi House is an important platform for fostering cultural dialogue between Beijing and Hong Kong. It has long been active in presenting art exhibitions and cultural programmes that create channels of exchange for artists from both places. The Ode to Colors exhibition, running from 12 to 25 August, offers another vivid example of the Centre’s commitment to bringing Hong Kong art into the Mainland and deepening two way exchange.

【2026年8月10日考察團行程紀要：從圓明園國寶到當代雕塑，走進藝術不同維度】

「北京藝術考察貴賓團」於8月10日迎來了行程緊湊且視野廣闊的一天，先後到訪保利藝術博物館、嘉德藝術中心及著名雕塑家任哲的工作室，從國寶文物、藝術市場到當代雕塑創作，全方位感受藝術的多元面貌。

考察團首站為保利藝術博物館——中國內地首家由大型國有企業興辦的博物館，以弘揚民族傳統文化藝術、搶救和保護流散海外的國寶文物為使命。考察團獲保利藝術博物館郭建巍董事長接待，並在館員牛翔宇先生的講解下，有幸近距離觀賞四件圓明園國寶牛首、虎首、猴首及豬首的複製品（真品已捐贈至故宮博物館），親身見證國寶回歸的動人故事，感受文物背後所承載的文化傳承與民族情感。

隨後，考察團轉赴嘉德藝術中心，獲副總經理馬學東博士、客務總監程玉洁女士及高級業務經理（古籍、碑帖、書札項目）范舒先生熱情款待。接著，中心代表為團員詳細介紹了拍賣作為藝術生態重要一環的獨特價值——拍賣不僅是藝術收藏與流通的平台，更是一種讓藝術走進公眾視野、促進普及的有效方式，讓更多人得以接觸、理解並參與藝術。團員們亦在嘉德藝術中心參觀了由嘉德藝術中心與故宮博物院聯合主辦的「敕几清晏：康雍乾三朝皇帝與詞臣書畫特展」。展覽精心遴選故宮博物院所藏康雍乾三朝君臣書畫九十餘件，以康熙、雍正、乾隆三朝皇帝與詞臣的書畫作品為主線，呈現清朝帝王於政務之暇，怡情翰墨的風雅情懷，團員無不沉醉其中。

午後，考察團走進著名雕塑藝術家任哲的工作室。任哲曾多次來港展出，其作品以富有中國文化特色的人物形象著稱，如金庸筆下的武俠人物及十二生肖系列，剛柔並濟，極具辨識度。在與團員分享創作心得時，任哲真摯地表示，無論使用任何素材創作其實並非最重要，最重要是發自內心的創作。這番話深深觸動在場每一位藝術愛好者。

隨着工作室的交流在熱烈氣氛下結束，考察團周一的藝術之旅暫告一段落。團員們帶着對國寶文物的感觸、對藝術市場的嶄新認識，以及藝術家真誠分享的啟發，滿載而歸。同時，團員們也對餘下兩天的行程充滿期盼。

10 August 2026: Walking Through National Treasures and Artists’ Studios: Experiencing the Allure of Auctions and the Spirit of Craftsmanship

The “Beijing Art Study VIP Delegation” embarked on an intensive and wide-ranging day on 10 Aug 2026, visiting the Poly Art Museum, the Guardian Art Center, and the studio of renowned sculptor Ren Zhe. From national cultural relics and the art market to contemporary sculpture practice, members gained a multi-faceted experience of the art world.

The first stop was the Poly Art Museum, the first museum on the Chinese Mainland founded by a major state-owned enterprise, dedicated to promoting traditional culture and rescuing and protecting national treasures that had been dispersed overseas. The group was received by Mr Guo Jianwei, Chairman of the Poly Art Museum, and, under the guided explanation of museum staff member Mr Niu Xiangyu, had the rare opportunity to view close up four replica bronze animal heads of the Old Summer Palace—ox, tiger, monkey and pig—whose originals have been donated to the Palace Museum. Through these works, delegation members witnessed moving stories of cultural relics returning home and felt the deep sense of cultural inheritance and national emotion carried by such treasures.

The delegation then proceeded to the Guardian Art Center and was cordially received by Dr Ma Xuedong, Deputy General Manager, Ms Cheng Yujie, Director of Client Services, and Mr Fan Shu, Senior Sales Manager (Rare Books, Rubbing & Manuscripts). The Centre’s representative then gave a detailed introduction to the unique role of auctions as an integral part of the art ecosystem—serving not only as platforms for collecting and circulation, but also as effective mechanisms for bringing art into the public eye and fostering wider appreciation and participation. Members also visited the special exhibition, Diligent Governance & Peaceful Realm: Paintings and Calligraphy of the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong Emperors and Their Literary Courtiers, co-presented by the Guardian Art Center and the Palace Museum, which showcased more than ninety works of imperial and ministerial calligraphy and painting. Tracing the refined literati pursuits of these emperors in moments away from state affairs, the exhibition immersed participants in the elegance of court culture.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the studio of renowned sculptor Ren Zhe. Ren has exhibited in Hong Kong on many occasions; his work is noted for its distinctly Chinese cultural imagery—such as Jin Yong’s wuxia characters and his 12 Chinese Zodiac series—combining strength and delicacy in a highly recognisable style. Sharing his creative insights, he remarked candidly that the material used is not the most important thing; what matters most is creating from the heart. His words deeply resonated with the art lovers present.

With the studio visit drawing to a close in an animated atmosphere, the Monday art journey came to an end. Delegation members returned with powerful impressions of national cultural relics, a renewed understanding of the art market, and inspiration from the heartfelt sharing of an artist—experiences that together enriched and elevated the entire study tour. At the same time, delegation members were full of anticipation for the remaining two days of the tour.

一張床，能安放睡意，也能承載時間、恐懼與意義。校友藝術家邵穎琪以影像與複合媒材，把最日常的物件化成一場關於生命原點的凝視——在反覆的日常循環之中，重新尋回那些被遺忘的感知。

A bed can hold sleep, and it can also carry time, fear, and meaning.
Through photography and mixed-media works, alumna artist Jessica Shiu transforms the most ordinary object into a gaze upon the origin of life — inviting us to recover the sensations lost amid the repeated cycles of everyday living.

The exhibition Keep Calm and Say Good Morning will be on view at The Gallery of Hong Kong Art School from 8 to 29 August 2026. We warmly invite you to step into the works and find your own dialogue between bed and body, memory and time.

【2026年8月9考察團行程紀要：走進國家級殿堂，感受傳統與當代的對話

「北京藝術考察貴賓團」於8月9日參訪了國家級藝術殿堂。考察團當日先走進中國國家博物館，細味中華文明數千年的藝術瑰寶；隨後轉赴國家大劇院，欣賞「觀化——當代茶生活藝術展」。是次展覽以茶為媒，將傳統茶文化轉化為當代生活美學的詩意實踐，展品涵蓋器物、空間、影像與行為，令人耳目一新。更難得的是，展覽策展人智吉（佘文濤）親自為貴賓團擔任導賞，娓娓道來每件作品背後的創作理念與文化思考。團員們在策展人的引領下，穿行於茶香與藝術之間，深刻體會到傳統文化如何在當代語境中從容「觀化」，獲得嶄新生命。多位團員表示，這場沉浸式的藝術體驗，不僅開拓了對茶文化的想像，更啟發了對藝術與日常生活關係的重新思考。

導賞結束後，團員們把握機會與策展人智吉深入交流，現場討論氣氛熱烈。這場傳統與當代交織的藝術洗禮，為整個考察旅程添上難忘的一筆。

9 August 2026: Stepping into National Cultural Landmarks: Sensing the Dialogue between Tradition and the Contemporary

The “Beijing Art Study VIP Delegation” visited national level arts institutions on 9 August. The delegation first entered the National Museum of China, where members took time to appreciate artistic treasures that embody several millennia of Chinese civilisation. They then proceeded to the National Centre for the Performing Arts to view the exhibition “Guanhua — Contemporary Tea Life Art Exhibition”. Using tea as its medium, the exhibition transforms traditional tea culture into a poetic expression of contemporary lifestyle aesthetics, with works spanning objects, spatial installations, moving images and performative pieces, offering visitors a refreshing experience.

An especially rare opportunity was having the exhibition’s curator, Zhi Ji (artist name of She Wentao), lead a dedicated guided tour for the delegation. He patiently explained the creative concepts and cultural reflections behind each work. Led by the curator, members moved through an atmosphere infused with tea fragrance and art, gaining a profound sense of how traditional culture can “transform in contemplation” within a contemporary context and be granted new life. Many participants remarked that this immersive artistic encounter not only expanded their imagination of tea culture, but also inspired them to rethink the relationship between art and everyday life.

After the guided tour, delegation members took the opportunity to engage in in depth conversation with curator Zhi Ji (She Wentao), sparking lively discussion on site. This encounter—an artistic baptism where tradition and contemporaneity intertwined—added a vivid and unforgettable chapter to the entire study tour.

The delegation was led by Mrs Janice Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong Art School Council, with Mrs Christine Ip, member of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, and Professor Barley Mak, School Director of the Hong Kong Art School, serving as vice heads of delegation. Together they guided more than thirty Hong Kong art enthusiasts in visits to a number of leading art institutions in Beijing, engaging in lively and substantial dialogue with sector leaders and practitioners.

北京藝術考察貴賓團成果豐碩—與清華大學美術學院商討學生交換計劃

由香港藝術學院及香港藝術中心之友攜手舉辦的「北京藝術考察貴賓團」，於上周五（8月7日）啟程，展開一連六天的北京藝術深度交流之旅。考察團由香港藝術學院督導委員會主席蔡關頴琴女士擔任團長，香港藝術中心監督團成員葉楊詩明女士及香港藝術學院院長麥陳淑賢教授出任副團長，率領三十多位本港藝術愛好者，走訪北京多個頂尖藝術機構，與業界領袖及從業員對話，場面熱鬧而充實。

貴賓團於8月8日（星期六）到訪清華大學美術學院。考察團獲清華大學美術學院副書記馬文甲先生、副教授丁葒及助理教授高宗帥親自接待，雙方就京港藝術教育發展、創作生態及未來合作交換意見，氣氛坦誠友好。會面期間，兩方一致同意全面提升交流合作層次，並商討雙向交換生計劃，讓香港藝術學院與清華大學美術學院的學員能夠互訪研習，在兩地不同的文化養分中拓展視野、精進技藝。隨後，考察團在馬文甲副書記陪同下，參觀清華大學藝術博物館，細賞多件珍貴館藏，團員均對清華深厚的藝術底蘊留下深刻印象。

團長蔡關穎琴女士表示，是次考察讓本港藝術愛好者親身感受北京蓬勃的藝術氛圍，更促成與清華大學美術學院極具意義的合作；而學生交換計劃將為兩地年輕藝術人才搭建重要的交流橋樑，她對未來合作充滿期待。院長麥陳淑賢教授亦指出，學院一直致力為學生開拓多元學習機遇，與清華大學美術學院的結盟，標誌著學院在推動藝術教育國際化及區域協作上再邁出關鍵一步。

除清華大學外，考察團連日還到訪多個享負盛名的藝術機構，與業界領軍人物會面，深入了解內地藝術生態的最新脈動。香港藝術學院將繼續善用是次考察所建立的網絡，積極促成更多跨界、跨地域的藝術項目，惠及師生及廣大藝術社群。

Fruitful Outcomes from Beijing Art Study Delegation – Discuss Student Exchange Scheme with Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design

Organised jointly by Hong Kong Art School (HKAS) and Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the “Beijing Art Study VIP Delegation” set off last Friday (7 August) on a six day in depth art exchange tour in Beijing. The delegation was led by Mrs Janice Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong Art School Council, with Mrs Christine Ip, member of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Professor Barley Mak, School Director of the Hong Kong Art School, serving as vice heads of delegation. Together they guided more than thirty Hong Kong art enthusiasts in visits to a number of leading art institutions in Beijing, engaging in lively and substantial dialogue with sector leaders and practitioners.

On Saturday, 8 August, the delegation visited the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University. They were warmly received by Mr Ma Wenjia, Deputy Party Secretary of the Academy, Associate Professor Ding Hong, and Associate Professor Gao Zongshuai. Both parties exchanged views on the development of art education in Beijing and Hong Kong, the ecology of artistic creation, and future collaboration. During the meeting, they agreed to deepen the level of exchange and cooperation, and discussed a two way student exchange scheme that would enable students from Hong Kong Art School and the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University to visit and study at each other’s institutions, broadening their perspectives and refining their practice within the distinct cultural contexts of the two cities.

Following the meeting, Mr Ma accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Tsinghua University Art Museum, where members were able to appreciate a selection of important works from the museum’s collection. The group came away with a strong impression of Tsinghua’s rich artistic heritage.

Mrs Janice Choi remarked that this study tour allowed Hong Kong art lovers to experience first hand Beijing’s vibrant artistic atmosphere, while also forging a highly meaningful collaboration with the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. She believed the student exchange scheme will build an important bridge for young art talents in both places, and she looks forward to the many possibilities it will bring.

Professor Barley Mak added that HKAS has long been committed to creating diverse learning opportunities for its students. The partnership with the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University marks a pivotal step forward in the School’s efforts to advance the internationalisation and regional collaboration of art education.

In addition to visiting Tsinghua University, the delegation called on several other renowned art institutions over the following days, meeting with key leaders in the field and gaining deeper insights into the latest developments of the art ecosystem in Mainland China. Hong Kong Art School will continue to build on the networks established through this tour, actively fostering more cross disciplinary and cross regional art projects to benefit its lecturers, students, and the wider arts community.

【藝術高級文憑畢業展訪問：承載光與記憶的旅程 —— 葉巧明《承光之器》的創作探索｜HDFA Graduate Exhibition Interview: Carrying Light, Time and Memory — IP Hau Ming Sam on Vessels of Light】

當一段旅程結束，我們能夠留下什麼？
在畢業作品《承光之器》中，香港藝術學院藝術高級文憑畢業生葉巧明 .ip.ceramics 將陶瓷器物轉化為針孔相機，讓其超越原有的實用功能，成為記錄光線、時間與移動軌跡的媒介。
在是次畢業展中，我們邀請她分享《承光之器》的創作歷程，以及香港藝術學院兩年的學習經驗如何塑造其藝術思維與創作實踐。

1. 請簡單介紹藝術創作方向，以及是次畢業展參展作品的核心概念。

我的創作以陶瓷為媒介，一直思考：陶瓷除了原本的器皿功能，還可以承載什麼？於是有了《承光之器》。我把陶瓷轉化為針孔相機，讓它不再只是裝載物件，而是成為記錄光線、時間與記憶的媒介。
這次展出的作品，我用了未經燒製的泥塑針孔相機，帶著它們走過香港不同的航線，記錄船程中的移動。創作過程中，我逐漸發現自己過去多年在不同國家及地方生活的經驗，也無意中投射到作品之中，讓我對離開，轉換環境，以及如何保存記憶有了更深的感受，而這些感受也慢慢融入作品之中。我一直很喜歡坐船，因為離開一個地方時，船會讓你看著熟悉的景象慢慢遠去，直到消失在視線中。這種由靠近到遠離的過程，很像記憶的變化——當我們走向下一個地方，過去的經歷雖然變得遙遠，卻從未真正消失。《承光之器》希望探索器物如何承載那些無法重現的片段，記錄一段正在流逝的旅程。

2. 由構思、試作到完成整組作品，過程裡遇到最大的難題是什麼？你怎樣拆解
和解決？

創作過程中，我最大的挑戰，是如何令作品的造形真正回應作品的核心概念。最初，我只打算製作一系列陶瓷行李箱針孔相機，希望透過行李箱象徵移動與離開。但在發展作品的過程中，我一直思考，單靠行李箱的造形，是否已經足以承載我想探討的旅程、時間與記錄。
後來，我開始以未經燒製的泥塑針孔相機進行航線拍攝。原本只是測試，但泥在移動、曝光及拆開的過程中留下各種痕跡、變化，本身也成為記錄旅程的一部分。這次嘗試讓作品發展出另一條創作線，也讓我明白，創作中的不確定性並不是阻礙，而是推動作品發展的重要契機。
