冬春交替之時，正值萬物復甦之際，Homan和Ivy最近工作時亦發現了不少有趣植物。

春季的穀物早餐

春天將至，不少野草已經在村落田野冒出頭來。圖中的小藜便是其中一種較亮眼的春日野草，它的花朵密集，果實成熟時會從綠色轉為橙色再轉為紅色，不同顏色並列在一起時就像小時候的穀物早餐一樣。而它的葉底佈滿着白色的鱗片狀物，雖然未能查證有何功能，但這些小結構在顯微鏡下觀察就像糖霜一樣，我們第一次觀察也感到十分驚喜！期待今個春季再見到它們盛放！

Springtime Cereal

Spring is approaching, and many wild herbs have already sprouted in the village fields. The Chenopodium ficifolium pictured here is one of the eye-catching wild herbs in spring. Its flowers are densely clustered, and as the fruits ripen, they change from green to orange and then to red. When these different colors appear side by side, they resemble the cereal breakfasts we had in childhood. Its leaf undersides are covered in white, scale-like structures. While their function remains unconfirmed, these tiny features resemble icing used in bakery under a microscope—a delightful surprise during our first observation! We hope to see them blossom again in spring.

草地和山嶺的歲月

2025年歲末將至，回看我們小隊這手忙腳亂又充實的一年——教學、研究、倡議⋯⋯還有行政、溝通、社交媒體等種種必要又讓人頭痛的工作 (I人苦笑中)。

而最珍貴的，始終是那些在田野中、不追KPI的free run的時光——踏入未知的自然草原，探訪熟悉與陌生的植物朋友。

這裡三個傻人，似乎無論工作或閒暇都與植物相繫。Work-life balance? 好像是沒有的，但與其糾結於區分工作與休閒，不如說我們找到了一種生活的熱情，其實跟那些鐵路迷或巴士迷是一樣的，哈哈。

Among Grasslands and Ridges

As 2025 draws to a close, our small team has a hectic yet fulfilling journey—teaching, research, advocacy... plus administrative work, communications, social media, and all those necessary yet headache-inducing tasks (fellow introverts, we feel you).

What we treasure most are those free run moments in the field (without KPI) —stepping into unknown natural grasslands, encountering familiar and newfound plant companions.

The three of us seem forever intertwined with plants, whether at work or at leisure. Work-life balance? Rather than worrying about separating the two, we’ve found a way to live what we love.
2026— let’s continue to explore!

《時隔超過160年，再度出現...?》

早前與友人在一個季節性濕地上尋找野草，蹲下看草時無意發現一種開紫紅色花的禾草，當下我心裡興奮不已，因為眼前的便是一直在追尋的禾草之一 - 小麗草。

小麗草對上一次在香港被記錄時已經是1861年，正正出現在Bentham撰寫的《FLORA HONGKONGENSIS》中，當時唯一的標本 C. Wilford 253 (K) 採集自「香港圍 (即現今黃竹坑舊圍一帶)」的一條溝渠，但相信該生境及植物族群已隨着發展而消失。而百多年間，香港亦未見其他小麗草的記錄。

到底今次是小麗草族群經過160年後重新在香港出現，或是族群本來已存在但無人理會，就不得而知。但筆者較相信後者的推想，因為禾本科結構細小複雜，屬於植物愛好的邊緣類群，自然就較少人、甚至是無人問津。但無論如何，能夠親眼看見這些較少記錄的禾本科植物，已經心滿意足。

而同一時間，發展的巨輪亦逐漸逼近，這片季節性濕地似乎面臨着發展的威脅，在旁邊可看到挖土機的痕跡及火燒的殘境，附近一些濕地更已被填土，面目全非。

明年今日，還會在這裡看到小麗草綻放的樣子嗎?

《香港禾本新記錄》

Mercury, Homan及Ivy過去兩年除了進行城市野草調查之外，更在調查中發現了不少香港新記錄的植物。我們最近在科學期刊Feddes Repertorium上發表了5種香港新記錄的禾本科植物，包括糠稷、瘦脊偽針茅、雙蕊鼠尾粟、毛枝黍及闊葉雀稗。如有興趣閱讀可登入期刊網站或pm我們索取文章。

Over the past two years, Mercury, Homan and Ivy have not only conducted urban plant surveys but also discovered some new plant records in Hong Kong during the investigations. We recently published 5 new records of grasses in Hong Kong in the scientific journal Feddes Repertorium, including Panicum bisulcatum, Pseudoraphis sordida, Sporobolus diandrus, Megathyrsus trichocladus and Paspalum mandiocanum. 以下為5種新記錄的簡介：

| 糠稷 Panicum bisulcatum Thunb. |
本種曾於2010年漁護署出版的《香港物種探索》期刊中記錄過，但欠缺物種描述，亦未發現憑證標本。本種花序分枝在成熟時明顯下垂，在香港暫僅見於低地農田較濕的生境。

| 瘦脊偽針茅 Pseudoraphis sordida (Thwaites) S. M. Phillips & S. L. Chen |
偽針茅屬(Pseudoraphis)首次在香港被記錄。本種為水生禾本，花序分枝末端延長變成剛毛狀。在香港分佈局限，暫僅見於一個季節性濕地。

| 雙蕊鼠尾粟 Sporobolus diandrus (Retz.) P. Beauv. |
本種的花序分枝開展及具兩雄蕊，而香港有分佈的鼠尾粟及鹽地鼠尾粟具緊縮的花序及三雄蕊，暫僅見大嶼山及屯門。

| 毛枝黍 Megathyrsus trichocladus (Hack. ex K.Schum.) Salariato & Zuloaga |
原產於非洲，其後引入至亞洲其他地方。本種的花序軸上具纖毛，此特徵在香港的禾本科中極為少見。雖然暫時僅於新界中部發現，但植株數量及覆蓋範圍甚高，未知會否對本地物種帶來影響。

| 闊葉雀稗 Paspalum mandiocanum Trin. |
原產於南美洲。本種外觀與圓果雀稗極為相似，但葉片較闊，而且小穗上具微細披毛。本種在香港分佈廣泛，從海拔50米至900米均有分佈，最早於1991年已有記錄，但被誤認作其他雀稗，相信是作為草坪而引入。本種在澳洲被列為入侵種，未知會否對本地物種帶來影響。
