The MSocSc(NPM) curriculum is the first master’s degree in nonprofit management in Hong Kong. Designed as an Executive Mode Master Programme, MSocSc(NPM) aims to empower future nonprofit leaders with the knowledge and management skills to lead and transform social purpose organisations across the philanthropic sector.

This curriculum offers:

🌿 MNPM Learning Opportunity: A thought-provoking journey at the Link Sustainability Lab! 🌟

Our fieldtrip led by Mrs. Rebecca Choy Yung immersed us in sustainability concepts and showcased practical environmental solutions in action.💡

The current exhibition, "Loop to Last – Unveiling the Circular Economy," highlighted the power of recycling and reusing to sustain resources. Exploring the Bioresources Showroom was eye-opening, especially witnessing sustainable solutions like black soldier flies tackling food waste. A big thank you to Mr. Woody Chan for the insightful presentation on Link's ESG Strategy.🌳

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) is excited to announce an exclusive internship opportunity for HKU students. This programme is designed to provide hands-on experience in organizing and executing one of HKCSS's signature events, the S+ Summit and Expo. Join us to make a meaningful impact while gaining invaluable skills and connections in the fields of social service, sustainability, and event management.

Internship Programme Overview
This 2-3 month internship programme is tailored for HKU students passionate about creating sustainable social impact. With 40 internship hours, the programme includes orientation and training, planning and operation, and evaluation phases. Students will gain hands-on experience in event management and guided tour ex*****on, while connecting with industry leaders and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities
As an intern, you will:
- Attend the orientation and training prepared by HKCSS.
- Plan and design guided tours for guests at the S+ Summit and Expo.
- Study exhibitors and their services from the S+ Expo.
- Prepare and execute guided tours on event days.
- Evaluate and review the effectiveness of the guided tours.
- Be attentive, proactive, and prepared for other assigned tasks.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for students who are:
- Passionate about social impact and sustainability issues.
- Possess strong communication and engagement skills.
- Team players with a proactive attitude.

What Will You Gain?
By joining this internship, you will:
- Participate in one of HKCSS's signature events and receive a certificate.
- Connect with leading exhibitors and stakeholders in the fields of social service and sustainability.
- Develop skills in presenting sustainability and social impact projects.

We had the privilege of hosting Mr Ronnie C. Chan, Honorary Chairman of Hang Lung Properties Limited, for an enlightening fireside discussion at our Master of Social Sciences in Nonprofit Management programme on 26 November 2024.

The session, "Profit or Non-profit: Reimagining Opportunities with Gen Z", explored the interaction of “money and power”, and intersection of commercial expertise and social impact, providing our students with valuable insights into balancing profit with purpose.

Our Programme Director, Professor Cheryl Chui, noted how Mr Chan's vast experience in both commerce and philanthropy dovetails perfectly with our programme's aim to develop future nonprofit leaders. The dialogue was enhanced by Bernadette Tsui, our esteemed faculty member and former Associate Vice-President at HKU.
