The MSc-INS Alumni Buffet Lunch and MSc-INS Mentorship Event was successfully held on 4 December 2025. The event connected alumni and current students. Alumni shared their professional journeys and insights, offering guidance and support to mentees.

[Learning Programme Re-accreditation for Master of Science in Insurance]
An on-site visit for Master of Science in Insurance (MSc-INS) was conducted by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications from 11 to 12 December 2025. The Final Report shall be received in February 2026.

[AIA Company Visit 2025]

A company visit to the offices of AIA Insurance Company at AIRSIDE was held for around 30 students from the MSc-INS Programmes on 14 November 2025. Colleagues from AIA Insurance introduced the participants to the operations of the company and nuances of the insurance industry, along with promoting their internship opportunities.

This event gave participants an insider look at the running of the company and valuable tips for a successful interview. The information shared that day was well received with great enthusiasm.

[MSc-INS x SAO CV Workshop 2025 - Be Career Ready: Gen AI Tools for CV Preparation]
The Master of Science in Insurance (MSc-INS) programme and the Student Affairs Office (SAO) jointly organized a career preparation workshop on 14th November 2025 titled Be Career Ready: Gen AI Tools for CV Preparation’ , equipping students with valuable skills for crafting professional resumes tailored to the Hong Kong job market. The session covered using generative AI to streamline CV writing, avoid common mistakes, and adopt effective formats. Participants received hands-on guidance, live demonstrations, and personalized feedback to refine their resumes. The workshop empowered attendees with actionable insights and tools, helping them stand out in a competitive job market.

[Master of Science in Insurance — Personal Tutor Meeting 2025]

The Personal Tutor Meeting for the Master of Science in Insurance (MSc‑INS) programme was successfully held on 10th October 2025 at HEYA (Olympian City). Over 40 students and academic staff gathered for an enjoyable afternoon tea.
The event provided a warm and welcoming platform for students and faculty members to connect and exchange ideas in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Participants shared their learning experiences, discussed academic and career‑related goals, and received valuable advice from their tutors.
Overall, it was a delightful and meaningful occasion, fostering stronger connections within the MSc‑INS programme and promoting engagement between students and academic staff.

[ Master of Science in Insurance Orientation Day 2025 on 30th August 2025]

The Master of Science in Insurance (MSc-INS) Orientation Day at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong was successfully held on 30th August 2025 at The Mira Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui during the afternoon. Over 40 new students, 5 alumni, and 10 faculty members actively participated in the event.

The day was filled with a variety of activities, including introductions to course content, campus facilities, practical matters for studying in Hong Kong. The event also provided an opportunity for the new cohort to meet all our dedicated course instructors, giving them a clear understanding of their academic journey ahead.

During the interactive three-hour sessions, each student benefitted immensely by engaging not only with teachers and peers but also with alumni who generously shared their real-world experiences. We sincerely wish our new MSc-INS students a fruitful and enriching learning journey in the year ahead.

[ MSc-INS Professional Talk Series #13 – Insurance Solutions for M&A transactions (22 Mar 2025) ]

We are delighted to have Ms. Sandra Lee, CEO of BMS Asia, as the guest speaker on 22 March 2025. This session provided an insightful overview of insurance solutions for M&A transactions. Ms. Lee emphasized the benefits of Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) insurance, such as financial security and good corporate governance. She elaborated on how W&I insurance can facilitate smoother transactions by protecting both buyers and sellers from potential risks. Ms. Lee also discussed the latest trends in the M&A insurance market, highlighting the increasing adoption of W&I insurance across various sectors. She underscored the importance of timely claims notifications to ensure effective risk management. Attendees gained valuable knowledge on the practical application and significant advantages of these insurance solutions, equipping them to navigate the complexities of M&A transactions.

We were delighted to have Ms. Iris Chan, Head of Corporate Risk & Broking (CRB) for Hong Kong and Macau, and Executive Director, Construction, Hong Kong & Macau of WTW as our guest speaker on 14 March 2025. This session focused on comprehensive risk solutions for major construction projects, emphasizing insurance protection and effective risk mapping. Ms. Chan, along with Mr. Jacky Chan, Director of the Construction team for Hong Kong & Macau, and Mr. Oswald Lam, Associate Director of Claims Services in Hong Kong, shared invaluable insights into the critical role of insurance brokers. They discussed three essential elements for creating distinctive risk solutions: Risk & Analytics, Insurance Broking, and Claims Advocacy. Attendees gained valuable insights into distinctive risk solutions for major construction projects, focusing on effective insurance protection and risk mapping, as well as a deeper understanding of the crucial role of world-leading brokers.

We are delighted to have Dr. Lester Lee, Executive Regional Director of FWD Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited, as the guest speaker on 14 March 2025. This session provided valuable insights into the concept of premium financing and its potential to enhance financial strategies for individuals and families.
Dr. Lee discussed who should consider premium financing, particularly high-net-worth individuals looking to optimize their wealth management. He also explained how this innovative tool can be utilized for low-risk wealth multiplication, showcasing opportunities for growth that can exceed three times the initial investment.
