🎉What a joyful and heartfelt evening it was at the recent closing ceremony of the “D&I Ambassador Programme 2025/26”! 🎊🌟 Our D&I Ambassadors came together to celebrate a journey filled with meaningful connections, warm conversations, shared laughter, and treasured memories. 💫😊
Throughout the year, our ambassadors explored inclusion far beyond the classroom — learning to connect through the power of inclusive language; walking alongside SEN students to build genuine bonds through open communication; stepping off campus to visit the Sikh temple and experiencing a different cultural tradition; and taking part in an Audio Description Workshop where every story was given the chance to be truly "seen". 🤝✨ Each experience sparked new conversations and planted a seed of inclusion in every ambassador's heart. 🌟
This journey has broadened their perspectives, nurtured friendships that transcend backgrounds and cultures, and empowered our ambassadors to grow as inclusive leaders. We look forward to seeing our ambassadors continue to inspire positive change on campus and in society! 💫

【🎥 D&I Festival 2025/26 — "The Manor": Screening & Dialogue 🎭】
On the evening of 31 March, the CUHK community came together for the 198th screening of The Manor — a film where persons with and without disabilities share the spotlight as leading cast, offering a heartfelt portrayal of love, growth, and inclusion. 🌟🎞️
Following the screening, producer Mr. Wallnex Jim, alongside cast members Mr. Chu Ka Kuen, Mr. Sze Kai Fung, Ms. Tang Ting Ting, Ms. Eileen Fung, and Alumnus Kuo Yin Hung, joined the audience for a post-screening dialogue moderated by Prof. Karen Wong of the CUHK Department of Social Work. Through their reflections, the process behind the film — actors, with disabilities or not, filmed until 3 o’clock in the morning, and how actors with disabilities perform without a script on site – their challenges, collaborations, and convictions — came vividly to life. ✨💬
Who says they can't?
That evening, the answer was clear. On screen and on stage, every cast member demonstrated what can happen when ability is recognised beyond physical or intellectual conditions, and when opportunity is offered on equal footing. The actors, with disabilities or not, All their effort and achievements affirm that inclusion is not a distant ideal, but something happening right here, right now, all around us. 💡
Our heartfelt thanks go to Hundredoc Limited, The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council, and Kong Stories for authorising the campus screening, and to CW Chu College, S.H. Ho College, The Nethersole School of Nursing, and the Department of Social Work for their generous support. 💫

💡Say Goodbye to “Tough Guy” Myths! Lunch Talk on Men’s Mental Wellness】
Thank you to all colleagues and students who joined our recent talk on Men’s Mental Wellness. It was an honest and heartfelt conversation about how the “tough guy” stereotype can make it harder for men to speak up, feel, and ask for help. 💬
We are especially grateful to the social worker and service users from the Jockey Club “Men’s Space” Programme for their meaningful sharing. They reminded us that embracing vulnerability is not a weakness, but a courageous step. 🌟💪
We also took away simple yet powerful ways to show up for the people around us: listen with care, pause our judgement, and offer support when it’s needed. Sometimes the smallest gesture can mean the most. 💫Let’s continue to foster a caring campus where we support and look out for one another. 🤝
Did you join us? Share your takeaways below! 👇Missed it but want a re-run or similar sessions? Drop us a message to let us know!

【✨A Journey into the Heart of Sikh Culture 👣】
Our D&I Ambassadors recently visited the Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple in Wan Chai, stepping into an atmosphere of calm strength and rich heritage. 🌟
Through vivid stories shared by our Sikh hosts 💬💡, we learned how the community has flourished alongside Hong Kong for over a century. We explored defining aspects of their identity—from the significance of the turban and uncut hair to the kirpan, a meaningful symbol of courage and protection carried by initiated Sikhs.💫
After a peaceful moment in the prayer hall, we joined the community kitchen (Langar) for a vegetarian meal and milk tea, experiencing the Sikh spirit of selfless service (Seva). Sitting side by side with no labels or hierarchy, we witnessed inclusion through genuine hospitality. 🤝
This journey deepened our appreciation for cultural dedication and helped us view differences with humility and respect. Grateful to our Ambassadors, whose openness and sincerity made this meaningful exchange truly special. ✨

Dinosaurs have captured our imagination for centuries—but many of the people behind their discovery have been written out of the story. In 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 – 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙨, Dr. Natalia Jagielska takes us on a lively journey through the hidden history of palaeontology.
Expect tales that are equal parts ridiculous and remarkable: a young girl fossil-hunting with her dog on England’s coast, a resourceful housewife experimenting with prehistoric remains at home, and daring scientists uncovering Velociraptor skeletons while resisting N**i forces in the desert.
This talk reveals how women, often left out from official historical records, helped transform dinosaurs into icons of modern science.
👩🔬 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫: Dr. Jagielska is a Polish-born palaeontologist, award-winning artist, and former museum collections officer, now at CUHK researching the skin and fur of flying reptiles from the age of dinosaurs.
來自生命科學學院的博士後研究員 Dr. Natalia JAGIELSKA 將主講一場別開生面的講座,題爲《Women in Science – The Invisible Women and Their Dinosaurs》。
This talk is jointly organised by The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Science, Diversity and Inclusion Office, and Women Academics Sub-Committee.
