🌎 Understanding the World through Model United Nations Conference 🌍

During our lessons, we not only learnt about the skills of model United Nations, but also increased our global awareness of cultural and political geography around the world. However, as the saying goes, ‘practise makes perfect’ (yea this is cringy but I can’t think of a better saying ahhhh), thus during our last lesson, we did a MUN conference about the situation in Ukraine as well as the Israel-palestine conflict.
The MUN conference was in a room with a professional setting, which allowed us to further immerse us in the experience of being in an MUN conference. Everyone participated enthusiastically and there were many fruitful debates on resolutions. It was important to know clearly one’s country’s stance and diplomatic relationships, as well as persuade other countries to join your bloc. One interesting thing about our mock MUN was that we chose the security council, where 5 countries, namely the USA, the UK, China, Russia and France, can veto resolutions. Thus, diplomatic speeches and good persuasion techniques were even more essential if you want to pass your resolution.
In conclusion, the mock MUN was a perfect closing to long and eventful course.
