How did I get here? After 5 years of moving to 4 different classrooms among 3 schools, this teacher was in total exhaustation! I was teaching middle school after I said: I would never do, now I say I WILL NEVER do that again, Covid and switching from ESL to Spanish! Who would not be confused? Now I teach Spanish in English! Therefore, my brain continues in two different languages, what a super power! However, GOD is GOOD! The only one elementary Spanish position in the county was heavenly sent to me two years ago...therefore I will BE STILL until GOD says something different, which is expected to be retirement!

Where do I begin teaching? This is the question by many teachers at the beginning of a semester or new school year. After the introduction and presentation of the course expectations and procedures, administer the Bilingual Initial Evaluation via Google Docs or Google Forms. The evaluation has 25 True/False items with the explanation of the false statements included in the Answer Key.

Then, use the Bilingual Google Slides to complement the review or reteaching of basic Spanish skills. The Slides can also be used for new students in your course.

Allow your students to have access to this resource. I taught students who had no Spanish background at all and the only way to support them was to provide them with the Slides at all times. Some students can't memorize or have no studying habit skills, therefore providing access to the content they are learning is imperative to their success.
