Congratulations to our PERM student Cheung Ka-long on winning the gold medal in the fencing individual foil competition 🥇at Paris 2024 Olympics! After a tense contest with his opponent, Ka-long won the gold medal with a score of 15:14 in the finals, the second gold medal of his career.

The Faculty expresses its respect and pride for Ka-long's outstanding performance and mentality, and for showcasing the ability of Hong Kong athletes on the world fencing stage.

Outstanding 2024/25 GRF/ECS grant success of FASS

The Research Grant Council (RGC) released the 2024/25 results of the General Research Fund (GRF)/Early Career Scheme (ECS) on 27 June 2024. Within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, a total of 21 researchers successfully secured 14 GRF projects and 7 ECS projects. The combined grant amount awarded totals $16.4 million.

Congratulations to the colleagues who received the award this year! The awards signify our colleagues’ effort to drive research excellence and to build research impact within and beyond academia.
