📆Advent Calendar 2021 ☃️
Micah has been asking for his advent calendar since January last year! It’s definitely the highlight of Christmas for him :)
I borrow the brilliant idea from to reveal photos from the year every day. They maybe about a special moment, an achievement or featuring a special person in Micah’s life❤️ it’s a wonderful way to reflect on the year.
Micah woke me up at 5:40am today to open his first present! 🧟♀️ No matter how little sleep I got seeing the smile on his face made everything worth it!

📣 BIG Announcement 📣 Product Release - Montessori-Inspired 3 Part Cards
My Newest Project with My Oldest Friend
We were the most ordinary students from the most traditional school. We followed the paths of the most travelled and were taught life is about not to make troubles. We were pretty successful in doing that! One became a teacher, the other an accountant. It seemed nothing wrong with our pretty ordinary lives.
Until one day, when we look at our children. We want them to be brave, confident and go after their passions. Hey, we are not these… 🤨 So we decided to maybe for the first time do something different, something original and something we love! Hopefully when the kids look at us, we can make them proud 💪🏻
Please follow to be part of our journey. We will be forever grateful 😊

🗺How to read a map?📍
Micah wants to see my phone whenever we call an Uber. He’s fascinated by seeing the car moving along the map and finally arriving before our eyes. So I printed out maps around our neighborhood and showed him how far/close of places that we frequently visit. There are soooo much to talk about and we had a great time :)
🗺 I just used Google map, made sure I didn’t change the scale and print screen from iPad
🗺 I made sure the MTR signs can be seen
🗺 I turned on “street view” to see the roads and streets more clearly (final pic)
🗺 I used the square pictures I prepared earlier from our visual calendar (see previous post)

🎂Micah’s 3rd Birthday Party 🥳
So happy to prepare this cozy birthday party for my son with a theme he picked and a style I love. I can never forget the excitement on his face when the balloons garland went up the night before 🥰
I learned how to make the balloon garland from a YouTube video and the process is easier and quicker than I thought. I just fixed it onto the wall with a few crepe paper tapes and it made such a difference to the room! They will stay up there for the whole month of May 😆

🏁Race Car Cake Topper and Party Decos🏎
Micah wanted a race car themed birthday party and I couldn’t find anything I like when I shopped around.
I decided to make my own birthday decos after looking at Pinterest for inspiration. What I used to make the cake toppers:
🏁Printer
🏁Colored papers
🏁Skewers
And lots of cut and paste :)
We didn’t have a big party but three (!) small ones for Micah (and Mother’s Day) due to social distancing. I like that I can reuse the topper for all three cakes ♻️ If you know how expensive a customized birthday cake can be then you’d know how much money I have saved with this DIY 😝

❄️Laminated Snow Globe Ornament ⛄️
Inspired by laminated ornament, I made these for our Christmas branch tree. I figured it would be a nice tradition to make 1-2 Christmas ornaments with Micah’s pictures on it every year to witness his growth. It’s already his 3rd Christmas but it’s never too late to start.

Play date 2020 😷
It was the day before the tightened social distancing rules became effective on Wednesday. The weather was wonderful and we had a great time. Everything was perfect except we were constantly reminding ourselves that it might be a looooooooong time until we can have some outdoor fun with friends again.
Being a parent in 2020 feels like a constant fight for normality and sanity. I want my 2 year old to play with friends outside, not facing the screen for “school” at home. Who knows this simple wish is that luxurious in the “new normal”.
Sometimes, my wish for Micah is only to grow up to be a “normal” person that can love/hope/laugh/cry. The funny thing is, we are all born with these abilities. It is already an achievement not to lose them in this crazy world.

🎄DIY Advent Calendar 🎄
Inspired by I made this last minute advent calendar last night. I figured this would be a good idea for Micah to practice counting in a festive way! He still doesn’t recognize all the numbers yet and I prepared some numbered circle stickers for him to match each day.
Micah was so surprised to discover another Christmas tree when he woke up in the morning. Daddy was explaining the whole idea to him but little did he know, the tp rolls were still empty at the moment 😆 mommy has some shopping 🛍 to do!

✨My Branch Christmas Tree 🌲
I first saw this brilliant idea from more than a month ago and I decided to challenge myself for this art project. I was lucky enough to have “rescued” some clean and long branches before they were discarded by the gardener of my building complex. It feels good to upcycle material from the nature🌿
Since Micah’s birth, every festival has become magical again. I wanted to put up a Christmas tree for him. However, November had always been the busiest month of my previous job and I never had the luxury to prepare for the holiday like now.
This tree is low cost and doesn’t take up any floor space. It only takes one hook to hang and no tape nor glue is needed. If you want to know how to make this, head over to she has the instructions in her story highlights.
